5 /5 L Cardinal: I’m not sure if the boathouse store is affiliated with the park and playground. The Boathouse store has fishing supplies of every kind including live bait. They also sell ice cream. The playground is very nice. It has a pavilion with picnic tables, and benches for parents to sit and watch their children play. There is a zip line swings, climbing area and slides. It is all right next to the St Johns River. It’s a beautiful spot.

5 /5 Tracy Falcis: It’s a beautiful park. Nice for fishing. Definitely supervise your children always. The Boathouse store is operated by a very nice man Henry. He sells bait, fishing poles & all things for your fishing.experience if you forgot something at home. Henry was so very helpful to my son with what bait he should get. He also guided him on which hook & bait to use on that hook & even which pole. My son luckily brought both his regular pole and bait caster. Well he kept getting “backlash” it was somewhat frustrating and wasted a whole lot of line. So after Henry noticed how my son casted, he tightened his reel & also offered more advice to not click it twice when casting. It made our time so much better. Henry is also a teacher by trade & he really made a nice impact on my son for his desire to learn more about fishing.

Arcadia Mill - Milton

Ryan Beverly: Nestled at the end of a neighborhood, sits an entrance to a boardwalk to one of Floridas oldest mill sites. As soon as you wal up to the entrance to the left is a covered area that has some remnants of said mill so you get an idea of what was there. From there you can take a boardwalk stroll that leads to some ground trails which are pretty neat. Cool little place to stroll if youre in the area or are a history buff. Really enjoyed the stroll

West Florida Railroad Museum - Milton

L D: We have a train enthusiast in the family and this train museum didnt disappoint. As the parent of this train enthusiast I didnt so much enjoy the trains but the lovely history preserved here. I also enjoyed the folks manning the stations- their greetings were warm, their train knowledge unmatched, and their passion palpable. If youre in the area- definitely recommend.

Carpenters Park - Milton

michelle: Does the job wares my child out and they have very clean bathrooms considering its a park, compared to any other local park. The splash pad wasnt up but we turned the faucet on and it shot out across the grass, it was just as fun.

Zip Adventures - Milton

Travis Reno: Tyler and Kat were amazing guides. They were friendly, talkative, ensured our safety, and made sure we understood what to do. They made the experience 100% better. The course was just the right length for a first timer like me and a different tour form past trips taken for my partner, who found it just as enjoyable as I did. We look forward to visiting again and hopefully camping and tubing, too

Optimist Park - Milton

Jamie: Great place to take your kids to play. They have a fun playground and you can even bring your fur babies to play in their own fenced in play area. Big dogs have a separate area from the little dogs to help with accidents. It is nice to be able to go inside a gate and close it before opening whichever side is appropriate for your dog. They also have a soccer field and ball field. The only improvements I can think of is a water fountain and a larger parking lot. I would recommend!

Garcon Point Water Management Area - Milton

Ruby Lewis: Many areas of the trail are only as wide as a dirt bike, the trail is not difficult but appears more like a path in most areas than an actual trail. One area was extremely swampy. As temperatures rise plan for bugs and snakes. On positive notes; incredible scenery, numerous hawks and waterfowl around. Parking is easily accessible.

Whiting Park - Milton

Jon Hofius: Although exclusive to service members, Whiting park is a GEM worth rediscovering. With enough outdoor amenities to keep the whole family entertained, even Fido can dip their paws into the Blackwater river and cool down too! MWR does a nice job providing these places and hopefully our families will take full advantage…also, very easy access on weekdays too.

Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park - Milton

Candela_ Miami: Not much to do here, except see carnivorous plants, which bloom only in the spring. We visited late December and didnt see any. Theres an unmarked gravel parking lot. Theres a very small trail that takes you to a small lake, and thats it. No hiking trails, or picnic tables, or bathrooms. Call Blackwater River for more information or to get the passport stamp.
