Casa Antigua - Key West (FL)

1 /5 Regan Sherman: Tell the people staying at casa antiqua that there are ghost and history tours going through the area. Last night someone staying at casa antiqua started yelling hateful things down to our ghost tour group. She was rude and ruined that part of our tour. It wasnt late either. About 9:30.

4 /5 Gainesvillain: Originally a hotel (converted to private residences in the 1970s), this is where Hemingway stayed when he first arrived in Key West (apparently Hemingways Ford was not ready upon arrival by steamship, so the car dealer on the ground floor put Hemingway and his wife up in the hotel on the upper two floors). As recently as the early 2000s, you could still tour the beautiful courtyard (via the beloved and much-missed Pelican Poop Shop, now an escape room), but now Casa Antigua is just a photo-op for Hemingway fans along with Hemingways house on Whitehead, Capt Tonys Saloon (the original Sloppy Joes), the Blue Heaven courtyard (which was once the Key West Arena, where Hemingway refereed boxing matches), Mrs Rhoda Bakers Eclectic Kitchen @ 830 Fleming St (where Hemingway and his cronies ate breakfast), etc.

5 /5 Chanda Espinoza: Key West room escape is a very fun atmosphere. Its fun to do the rooms in a hr or less. Pirate room, Havana jail and papas study. A bonus is my brother and sister in law work there. Go visit u wont be disappointed!!

4 /5 C J (61): This was Hemingways first residence when he came to Key West. You must come and see it. Although it is a private house now, there is still a small introduction outside, which allows you to imagine what the scene was like back then.
