5 /5 Toni Thompson: We attended the opening service and Mass for the Jubilee Year 2025 that began with a procession of all attendees followed by a special service and Mass. Note that communion is offered by host not wine.
The Cathedral is decorated in tastefully, symbolically simplistic style with a partial in-the-round layout with comfortable seating. The altar offers a large carved crucifix and the carved stations of the cross adorn some walls. The huge choir area offers several stacked rows for choir members, a large area for instruments, an organ, and a baby grand piano.
In a separate area, a replica of La Pieta stands alone. Two separate small shrines offer places to pray and light special intention candles.
The traditional "cry room" or childrens room is large with TV and separate entrance with ramp access with natural sunlight.
The parish offers a robust calendar of rosary, adorations, mass, confessions, and programs for children, youth, men, women, and special interest groups. Livestream services are accessible at the website.
Accessible venue with accessible van access parking and no curbs and ramp entry. The womens lounge includes a brides room, a separate accessible restroom with 5 ft x 5 ft area, grab bars, and standard restrooms. I did not find a grooms room.
The Cathedral is a majestic place that is simultaneously very welcoming, warm, and spiritual.
