1 /5 Karen Cooper: I found the office staff to be very unprofessional and rude. When I went for my first appointment, which required a mandatory exam before the cleaning which I understood as typical procedure and was not a problem with me, but I simply asked the front receptionist if my insurance would cover the mandatory exam. She said I would be charged for the exam which I said I understood, but since my records were sent to Steinkampās office by myself ahead of time as they requested, I asked if I already had exams in my records that would preclude me from having the exam covered by my insurance for todayās exam. I was asking a simple question about their policy and my coverage, and the receptionist became very rude and indignant. She rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed and said that she would have to go ask. When she came back, another receptionist walked up and joined in the rudeness by saying I shouldāve asked my insurance about that ahead of time to which I replied that I had my records sent ahead of time as requested, so I simply asked because I thought it would be something they could tell me. Both ladies teamed up and became very rude to me. I immediately called my insurance right then and there and they threatened to cancel my appointment if I wasnāt able to do it quick enough. I got a hold of my insurance quickly and filled out the paperwork at the same time and when I brought up the completed paperwork, I told them that I was surprised at the way they treated me when I had heard such good things about the office before coming. This made them even more rude and indignant, and they continued to roll their eyes and huff and puff and display very negative body language, which was completely unprofessional. I made a comment how rude they were being and they ran to the Dr. Steinkamp and gave only their side of the story, even though he had no clue what was going on and apparently he told them to cancel my appointment and send me away. Shame on Dentist Steinkamp for not finding out what actually happened before sending me away. They completely created that whole situation into such a negative interaction from the very get-go and he didnāt even take the time to find out what really happened. I told them I took time off from work to go to this appointment and I then asked to speak to an office manager and a third lady came up and in defense of the other two rude receptionists, and she became rude herself and said that the first rude receptionist, who is named Sara by the way, is the second in charge and that the office manager isnāt there to which Sara became very smug and made a smirk like no one is gonna go over her. I will not be going back and I would urge anyone to be careful before going to this dentist office.
