Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens - Port Orange (FL)

3 /5 Lori Leung: A lot of paths to walk and the old sugar mill was interesting to see. They had an area that had dinosaur models, but were very old and didn’t look like what a dinosaur would look like, kind of like what you would see in a cartoon, but I guess a child wouldn’t mind seeing it. They have restrooms available that were very clean. It was a nice walk, but hot, humid and it started to pour down rain with lightning and thunder. Glad we had umbrellas and made it back to the car. Probably better to go in the winter months for a quiet walk. Some plants did not have a sign saying what we were looking at on the trails.

5 /5 Sandy E: What a delightful escape. I needed to ground and calm myself before my daughter’s Cheer nationals and seen this place on google. I instantly knew I wanted to visit. It was the perfect place to walk and feel like you’re in the woods but still in a residential, safe area. Google to us straight to the location. The paths were perfect to just lazily stroll. Perfect for people who just wanna chill. The history was sprinkled in the right places and didn’t get in the way of seeing the nature. They even had maps in a mailbox at the entrance to tell you where the paths went and what you would see. You just had to put the map back when you left. I really recommend the visit.

5 /5 Ellen McGrory: There is a parking lot directly across from the main entrance and maps are usually available in the green mailbox. There is no entry fee. It takes around 1 or 2 hours to go through the entire area where you will see an abundance of plants and trees and dinosaurs. There is also a gazebo, flower circle, the Sugar Mill of course, a human sundial, a chapel area and a native garden with helpfu) plant labels. When volunteers are there you can purchase locally sourced honey. On the way in or out is a red donation box so you contribute to the upkeep.

5 /5 Janithza PQ: Love visiting this place. The entrance is free, although donations (cash) are highly encouraged and may be left in a secure box near the entrance. They also have plants in pots that may be purchased and money it’s also deposited into the same box. I highly recommend because it’s really a historical peaceful piece of Heaven on Earth! ❤️

5 /5 BC Katz: An amazing place! Gardens, ruins, and the occasional dinosaur will punctuate your visit. This place is FREE! Serene and wonderful, an outstanding diversion for a special day.
