5 /5 Cara Star: STUNNING. Beautiful water and plenty of places around the water to safely and comfortably enter and exist. This is one of my favorite places! Tips: There are turtles, about 3 when we went. Be careful. They are not friendly. They close at 6. The ranger announced at 5 pm that he was closing the gate exactly at 6, no exceptions. If you needed out you’d have to call some number and they would fine you for trespassing. The hike is about a mile! There’s a gravel trail and it’s shaded. Highly recommend bringing floaties. It will give you a better experience:)

5 /5 Skylar Y: One of my favorite places to visit in hot weather!! Especially when you want open water that isn’t an hour away from Tallahassee. Fun area filled with friendly college and high school students most of the time. The wildlife is super neat, where you always see a turtle or two and fish! There’s also a few ropes and areas to swing or jump off from into the water which is one of my favorite things to do here. Very fun place if you’re okay with a lot of dirt and rocks. I recommend bringing a floatie or two because it’s hard to get in the water otherwise. The water is VERY deep, spanning around 70 something feet. I would also bring extra tennis shoes to walk that mile or so walk TO the sinkhole from the parking lot. Its an experience to prepare for, so definitely pack some bags of these things before coming!

5 /5 Jan Black: This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to go. The walk to get there is shaded by trees and has a nice gravel trail to follow. The turtles are very cool to watch. I highly recommend this place.

wakulla county equestrian center - Crawfordville

Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park - Wakulla Springs Elizabeth Plants: Beautiful. The boat ride is a must do activity. Ranger James was a great guide on the boat ride. It was fun to see so many different birds, fish and alligators.

Wakulla Beach - Crawfordville Kate Pece: We could see our rental from the beach. Spent a week launching our kayaks from here and fishing. Head over to the oyster bars east of the beach for reds, trout, and flounder.

St. Marks Lighthouse - 3Delta7: Had a great visit, out to the Lighthouse. Saw a bald eagle, several alligators, beautiful Marsh areas. The history of the lighthouse is very interesting, cant wait to go back. The views are spectacular, the park is well manicured and well maintained. The visitor center was very informative and t ht e staff was professional and friendly. Lot of wildlife information is available. Many many viewing areas along the drive out to the lighthouse. We spent a out 4 hours in the park and could have stayed longer. Definitely going back.

San Marcos de Apalache Historic State Park - St Marks Sheryll Waite: Small but nice museum with information on the different forts and countries that occupied this land since the late 1500s. Walking trail around the property to tell the story of some of what existed there.

Wakulla Station Trailhead Park - Crawfordville Paul Meyers: Our first 20 mile bike trip on our E-bikes. Super flat and smooth. Was impressed with benches and picnic tables along the trail. On top of that restrooms! And not porta potties either. This trail is a Jewell! We couldn’t ask for more except there were these pesky deer flies at this on spot.

Wakulla River Park - St Marks Megan Davis: I celebrated my sons first birthday here and it was a wonderful place to do it. The scenery is beautiful and there is an amazing playground and swings and benches everywhere. They have an archway right at the top of the hill in front of the water to get really cute pictures there. Its a stunning place and well worth a visit with the kids or a place to celebrate birthdays or even a wedding with the beautiful and huge oaks and again the scenery is beautiful. The tide was out when I took these pictures but normally when its up to covers those two bottom, big steps. The also allow people to fish for scallops but there is a type of license you need in order to do it. There are informational signs posted everywhere. Oh and the big pavilion does have electricity with the ability to turn on the lights of the building when it starts to get darker and plugs to use for blow up bounce houses or just charging your phone or use the back wall as a screen and plug in a projector and have a movie date there by the water with the family. This place offers you the freedom to get creative and it appeals to every age. Go check it out and have fun!

Chautauqua Vineyards & Winery - Defuniak Springs SOBIs Hobbies: Awesome place! Super friendly staff and very well maintained facility. We truly enjoyed our visit here. They have a dedicated wine tasting room where you can choose your desired wine(s) to taste from the provided wine list. They even had various types of grape juices for children to taste as well. That really was a nice touch. Our kids really loved their grape juices. There are plenty of accessories, gifts and other local farm products at their storefront as well should you like to shop. And their prices were very reasonable. It truly was a great experience! We will be definitely coming back here again soon.

Lake Stanley Park - Defuniak Springs Michelle Alessio: Pretty blahhh and oftentimes a place where unaccompanied minors who shouldnt be there alone (according to their maturity level), hang out... but its a lot nicer than it used to be. Good little boat ramp and lake to go tubing on. Nice place for a quick dip on a hot day. There are a few pavilions to enjoy lunch under but Ive found they are usually pretty dirty or already occupied by said unaccompanied minors hanging out at them causing a ruckus. Beware of the geese and poop, also for glass in the water.

Christmas Reflections - Defuniak Springs Casey Snyder: Beautiful display of lights around the entire lake. You can park nearby and walk in free of charge, or you can drive around the lake at $5.00 per person in your vehicle over the age of 5. We have not been in several years. This time, there was a Starbucks right off of I10, which was an added bonus! Dogs are welcome as well.
