5 /5 Rick Warner: Just finished a root canal with Dr. Slingbaum and it went very well. He is very professional and his staff is great too. Pain was minimal and I felt like I was in very good hands. He gladly accommodated a special request I made of him, and it was appreciated. In regards to the other review about the Dr not having a good bedside manner, he is definitely not a fluffy bunny kind of Doctor, but he is very professional. We all have to remember what Doctors and business owners have to go through with increasingly terrible patients/customers. We have as much of an obligation to be good patients as that have to provide good service. That said, I believe it is important to put dental patients at ease and Dentists should always keep that in mind, especially later in their careers.

5 /5 Paulette Alden: I had a root canal done by Dr. Slingbaum yesterday and Im happy to report it went smoothly. Im very pleased with the whole experience, from Lisa who was so helpful in scheduling, to Sharon who was Dr. Ss assistant during the procedure, to Dr. Slingbaum himself. He answered my questions, I felt confident that he knew what he was doing, and today Im relieved the root canal was not a torturous deal; instead, I never felt any pain (except for the x-ray plates that are too big from my mouth) and it all took about an hour and a half, and afterwards I went to the grocery store. Based on my experience I can definitely recommend Dr. Slingbaum.

1 /5 Rachel Green: This is the only endodontist in the Keys and he certainly takes advantage of it. The office doesnt accept any dental insurance and charges rates up to 3 times what is normal anywhere else. The endodontist himself doesnt actually live in the Keys. He flies in a few days a week and charges extravagant prices. As a full time resident of the Keys, I think its unethical to take advantage of the people who work and live in a small community that is lacking in options for dental care.

From the receptionist - super helpful and friendly (even through my several calls and questions), dental assistant- very professional and friendly to the outstanding job of my doctor Landy. She was super gentle and careful with full explanation. I will return again.

1 /5 Brynn Morey: I just left Dr. Slingbaums office after having a root canal procedure, so I wanted to write this review as soon as possible so I could advise the public of the exact details. I was absolutely appalled by Dr. Slingbaums bedside manner. While he was numbing my tooth he became frustrated because I was moving. At one point he said in a rude and frustrated manner, "thats your problem you are moving too much." When someone sticks a needle in your jaw it can be painful and you may jerk, but not on purpose. He was extremely rude and had me in tears throughout the procedure. Not to mention the office I was in was missing floor paneling and the instruments were not covered in plastic, like standard dental facilities. I would like to advise that if you are in need of a root canal, head to the mainland or another endodontist because Dr. Joel Slingbaum severely lacks patient compassion and medical professionalism.
