4 /5 Carolyn Barnes: I sometimes have time between one State Park or another, so I love the Florida water management camp grounds. While here, I was the only camper. My dog and I loved walking the trails. The nicest spot visually was the bridge over the slough, which has a special ramp for Airboats to cross to the other side of the low bridge.
There is one porta potty on the main road towards the bridge and a working hand pump of non-potable water. Good for hand washing and rinsing dishes. Not to drink. Sadly, there was one site that the previous campers abandoned a tent, mattress, bedding, in 2 big piles and a small brand new grill. I dont understand why people dont take their messes out with them, but my last SWFWMD campground was sililar. Otherwise, the camp was very clean, quiet except for an occasional airboat, and lovely to explore. I would definitely come here again.
