4 /5 Jeff Adams: Ive been to the visit center, toured the mansion and the grounds several times over the years. As someone who likes to know local history, Ive always found it enjoyable. But Id enjoy it more if there were some displays and more tour messages acknowledging how difficult it was back then for slaves -- describing their work, their home lives, etc. But I suppose thats asking a bit much from the United Daughters of the Confederacy that has played a big part of restoring the mansion. After all, the daughters are all about honoring a Confederate army that did all it could to maintain the Souths slave-dependent economy.
