1 /5 Shanese Langsett: This park is beyond disgusting The turf is so worn out and gross looking The playground is always covered in water and doesn’t dry and will get your child wet There are no swings that are not baby swings This park is the biggest disappointment Growing up in this neighborhood it was amazing, wooden playgrounds. Three different structures. They re did it so they didn’t have to maintain it and it’s so obvious that it is not maintained. Bayview park is 100 times better. Fort Lauderdale should be embarrassed by this playground.

5 /5 Emmanuelle Subar: Such a great park. We had our sons first birthday here Broward parks department was extremely easy to deal with and reserve the picnic tables. We hired a petting zoo again, Broward parks made it very easy to coordinate, and they don’t have a set vendor list, which is Helpful. Very easy to find more than plenty of parking and the picnic tables overlook the playground so parents can hang out and talk while still keeping an eye out on the kids. It’s been the first time I ever find a kids birthday, note to other parents, table cloths & banners do not work when it’s windy out so plan accordingly lol. the park doesn’t allow balloons which we were more than OK with but for those parents who may want them for birthday parties take note.

5 /5 B. V.: Gorgeous playground area. Nice restroom facilities, lots for the kids to do and get their energy out. Also a nice shaded area for picnics and many sports facilities in the area. Plenty of free parking for the park and playground and looks like they have a lot of activities throughout the year as well. Iguanas and lizards roam freely.

I will say it’s amazing if I could have had the 2 hours round trip I read about . Unfortunately I went on a Saturday and I got the ending of the stops by the Olas Boulevard Stop. Boat Lady was not in her best mood (all I can say because I don’t like to bad mouth people) … but I will try another day of the week to see if I get a better experience. Any way… grateful for the city of Fort Lauderdale that offers this service for free !! Amazing … After doing this boat ride .. you can enjoy a walk around .. for example I had a walk around Las Olas Boulevard … great … great time, great stores, great restaurants !!

World AIDS MUSEUM and Educational Center - Fort Lauderdale Rose I.: I went here around 2017 and was very impressed by the museum. It jogged my memory of those AYDS weight loss candies. I learned a lot too. I hope the museum stays open. I became aware of the museum while working in a county school when some people came in to the school to educate the students about risky behaviors and HIV and they mentioned the museum.

Lewis Landing Park - Fort Lauderdale Ariel W.: Lewis Landing Park in Ft. Lauderdale has quite an amazing history. Archaeological items relating to the Tequesta including animal bones, pottery shards,and shells were found in the park in 2010 indicating a village was here from 800 to 1200 A.D.. The Tequesta were Native Americans who lived along the New River for at least 5,000 years. They used dugout canoes to travel the river from the Everglades to the Atlantic Ocean. When Spain claimed Florida there were thousands of Tequesta but by the time they gave Florida to England in 1763 there were less than 300 left having been wiped out by disease and sold as slaves to Cuba. The park is named for the Lewis family who came from the Bahamas in 1792 and settled on the banks of the New River. They lived on a farm growing coconuts, guava, limes and oranges until 1824. It was believed that their farm served as a way station for the British who were trying to subvert Spanish control. In 1830, Frankee Lewis now a widow sold the land for $400. Ten years ago the park was a vacant residential property. It has now been turned into a river front park with gazebos, a jogging path, a fishing dock, an observation deck, park benches, picnic tables, and a water fountain. The only drawback to the park is that parking is extremely limited with one car parking spot and one handicapped. On January 24, 2015 a statue of a Tequesta Indian sculpted by artist Nida Comas was added to the park. Plaques on the pedestal of the statue provide information about the Tequesta people who are now extinct. This beautiful park is the perfect place to exercise, enjoy a picnic or just take in the beautiful water view. It is also a wonderful place to sit and contemplate the people who came before us who once canoed down the waterways.

Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park - Fort Lauderdale Rick The Grandmastr: Very nice chill park. Seems quiet but it was just 9:30am So children playing maybe in a daycare program was beautiful. They had adult supervision by many adults and that was great!
