Joel K: I arrived at the church and parked in a handicap parking space and put my handicap placard on the rear view mirror. I walked into the lobby to admit my kids into the children’s church and one of the lobby attendants asked me to move my truck out of the parking space. She began to explain that security will tow my truck. I advised her that I have my handicap placard clearly displayed and she had the audacity to ask me if I am legitimately handicapped! This was highly insulting and degrading. As a black male I felt profiled and targeted. As my wife was about to finish admitting my kids into the children’s church I told them to get back into the car so we could leave. My kids were very disappointed because they were looking forward to the children’s service. This broke my heart seeing the disappointment on their faces.
I will never be returning here again after being insulted and degraded in what is supposed to be a welcoming place to worship and fellowship.
Mary Strait: This is a wonderful, small church with very friendly people who try to make you comfortable. Most are local, neighbors who are serious about helping each other out. A low pitched religious service with a very sweet pastor who gives a sensible kind of sermon. A nice change from the mega church screaming and preaching of hell and damnation.
