1 /5 Kea G: I was excited to learn this store was around especially since there aren’t a lot of hair care stores in the area that cater to people with textured hair. I returned to this store after a friendly encounter I had with one of the employees before. She was the woman with brown hair and heavy Spanish accent. However, today was a completely different experience.
While browsing the hair care section with my 3-year-old, she was actually helping put misplaced products back in their proper spots. She accidentally dropped a few, and as she was picking them up, the Hispanic woman abruptly came around the corner and sternly said, “Hello, I’m sorry. Can you have her pick this up? She’s been touching everything in the store and now she’s dropped this and left it there.”
I tried to explain that my daughter wasn’t making a mess—she was actually tidying up—but before I could finish, the employee walked away and mumbled something I couldn’t hear. At that point, I decided to leave.
I’m not sure if they’ve had issues with unruly children before, but I don’t let my child run around touching everything. If they check their cameras, they’ll see she was simply mimicking me and being respectful of the store. In fact, she was holding a pack of hair accessories we were planning to purchase. Instead of arguing my case, I put everything that I had intentions on buying back in their proper place and walked out.
I refuse to spend my money somewhere I’m mistreated and where my kid is falsely accused of doing something she didn’t. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, this store won’t be getting my business again.
