5 /5 ever owen: We went in the morning and it wasn’t super packed, great experience getting to see all the animals. Very dry beautiful gardens. A few animals were not out, but most were! The staff was nice and helpful. Plenty of air conditioned rooms to stop at and bathrooms.

Theres so much more to experience than just animals—between the lush gardens, scenic views of the water, and the variety of special events and exhibits, every visit feels unique. One of my favorite parts was getting to feed and pet the stingrays—such a cool and interactive experience! I also loved watching the playful otters and walking through the immersive bird exhibits. You can really tell how much care goes into maintaining the habitats and ensuring the animals are well cared for. The Bonobo exhibit was fascinating, and of course, the tigers were as stunning as ever. Highly recommend a visit for all ages!

5 /5 Chillin With the Coopers: My sons school planned a trip here and let me tell you, they didnt go wrong. This was unlike any experience that Ive ever had at a zoo. We (my husband and I), had our own little group of kids with us to walk around the zoo. It was so nice and organized and everything was pretty easy to find. I loved watching other family feed the giraffes!! The school didnt sign up for that part but I sure want to bring my whole family back. Ive been to the Atlanta Zoo and this actually was much more enjoyable.

5 /5 Wade: We enjoy coming to this zoo. We got the annual pass this time around and will be visiting more. You have to pay extra for things like feeding animals and the train, just be aware. They have lots of beautiful animals. It’s fairly large. Don’t recommend the food so bring your own if you can. It’s a great place to bring the kids and get some exercise.

Southbank Riverwalk - Jacksonville Inday Grasya: A beautiful place to walk, with amazing view. When we visit there last week we encountered the beautiful sightseeing of dolphins and they so gorgeous. They have also playground for the kids and fountain that give u refreshing feelings. Very clean as well.

Castaway Island Preserve - Jacksonville S D: Beautiful nature gateway. Pretty small trail but very peaceful. Great to come here on a New Year’s Day walk. Sadly did not see much wild life but there are many informative signs of the wild life animals that do live in the salty marsh environment. It was my first time observing this type of environment. There is a main Island trail and on the side there are some observance spots as well.

Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens - Jacksonville Pilar Rodriguez: Such a peaceful and beautiful place! We visited the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens with our dog and we loved it. The trails are well-maintained and easy to follow, with gorgeous views and a mix of shaded and sunny areas. It felt safe and super relaxing. My pup was happy sniffing around and walking the trails (on leash, of course), and there were plenty of spots to stop, rest, and enjoy nature. It’s a perfect little escape from the city—definitely worth the $3 entry. We’ll be back soon!

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park - Jacksonville dope!Mike: Had a nice relaxing three day stay at this park while exploring the area. I like how theres a beach across the street from the Campground. Makes for easy sunset walks or an early morning swim.

James Weldon Johnson Park - Jacksonville Alex Vane1: stopped by James Weldon Johnson Park during Art Walk Night and was blown away by the energy and creativity on display. The park came alive with local artists showcasing their work, live music filling the ai, and food trucks lining the edges with the scent of great eats. The lighting and setup gave the whole space a vibrant, welcoming vibe. It was the perfect mix of community, culture, and downtown nightlife. Whether youre into visual art, live performance, or just enjoying a good crowd, Art Walk at JWJ Park is a must-experience part of Jacksonvilles local scene.

Big Talbot Island State Park - Jacksonville Jessica Hollon-Tuell: The trail is longer than I expected, to get to the beach but it was a nice, pleasant walk. The beach itself was gorgeous! All the dead trees really gave it a mildly spooky, cool, ethereal vibe and the waves were so mild, we just chilled in the water for hours.

Little Talbot Island State Park - Jacksonville 303of3: We enjoyed this beach so much! It is less crowded and has a more rustic, natural beach setting. The sand is soft and the beach area is clean. There are lots of shells available on the beach as well.

Memorial Park - Jacksonville Faith Ross: Well designed park space with an expansive view of the St. Johns River. Trees and landscaped gardens border the the outside of a wide pedestrian circular walking path. Benches along the walkway are given ample shade by the bordering trees. The center of the park remains a wide open grass area for picnics or a game of catch. The open area also enhances the view of its dramatic riverside sculpture and the river. The azaleas were spectacular this year!

The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary - Jacksonville Donna Marie Crawford: I really enjoyed my visit to this sanctuary. The enclosures are beautifully equipped nice size and the staff really know their stuff. There was an older woman just walking around with a volunteer t-shirt on giving us all kinds of information about the animals It was a wonderful time. I was able to capture some great videos I hope youre able to take the time to watch and go visit. All the money from visitors goes to helping the sanctuary continue to run and supply for the animals that are there. I will be returning with my husband next time. Id also like to add it as absolutely wheelchair friendly I went by myself an electric wheelchair and all was well. Lots of good vibes and kids enjoying animals they would never otherwise be able to see. Thank you thank you thank you for providing such a wonderful place for these animals that came from such horrible conditions. This is definitely a heartfelt mission for these folks and I would support them 100%.

Jacksonvilles "Hands On" Childrens Museum - Jacksonville Rachel Anderson: Had no idea of what to expect upon entering. Tons of children were here on Saturday. It was loud, a bit crowded, and very hot. Like the air conditioning did not work. The kids did not seem to mind, but I as a parent was miserable. I did enjoy watching the kids in full imagination mode. My daughters favorite room to play in was the veterinarian office. They had a McDonalds playplace crammed in there which was cool to see. The toys were very vintage which was charming and nostalgic. My daughter had a good time overall, but I would not return unless they fixed the AC issue. It was unbearable. $7.00 per person including adults, we stayed 2 hours.
