What Clients Are Saying about Jessie Ball DuPont Park (on GG)
5 /5 Roxy Hall: Itās truly amazing. That tree is over 100 years old and still growing.
5 /5 Thomas Schweiker: This is more of a historical site then a park. Its not really a place to walk a dog, maybe a picnic, but if you like trees at all then youll have to come to this oark
4 /5 Jiovani Silva: Nice and well maintained park in the middle of the city. Home to a beautiful 200 yr old oak tree that sprawls outward like an octopus. Great for photos.
5 /5 Ohio Fourth and Fifth Grade Science: Like the Angel Oak outside Charleston. The Treaty Oak is a magnificent specimen! I believe it was named after Obadiah Treaty, a seldom used back-up defensive end for the Jaguars.
4 /5 Brittani Schlimgen: My boyfriend and I loved visiting this cute little park. Definitely a nice place to bring kids, however you can not climb on the tree. We got some great pictures and had a wonderful time. I do wish there was some extra parking. We didnt want to stay too long and inhibit on someone elses experience.
The Escape Game Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRita Loeding: Yay! So much fun - definitely met our expectations. We even did a second Escape because we enjoyed the first one so much. The staff members were so friendly and helpful- they made sure we were comfortable and felt safe.
We did āThe Prison Breakā and āGold Miningā.
They level the games by difficulty- thatās very helpful. They also help you select the game that is best for your size of group if you want their help - also extremely helpful.
Thereās shirts and novelties to purchase if youād like. Shirts are nice quality. Cold beverages available. The restrooms were clean and thereās a drinking fountain.
Easy finding the building. We had plenty of parking. Thereās restaurants in the same shopping center if you want to do multiple games and need to eat.
So glad we came⦠definitely coming back.
Camp Milton Historic Preserve - JacksonvilleBunny Knows Best: I love shooting here! As a photographer, Iāve had this location booked the most! It offers perfect variety. Careful with planning any weekend shootās especially around the golden hour cause you may have to rock-paper-scissors other photographers for a spot!
Clarke House Park - Orange ParkHaley Rasmussen: If youve never been to this park, make the drive and CHECK IT OUT! This playground is next to the historical Clarke House so you can get a little exercise and history, all in one!
I took my 1.5 year old and he had the best time exploring every part of the park. They have so many types of play equipment I have never seen in other parks.
The long zip line and the chair zip line were not working while we were there but it didnt feel like we were missing out on anything with so many other fun things to play on.
Ritz Theatre & Museum, Jacksonville - JacksonvilleAnsa Reams-Johnson: I was at the Ritz for the Cecile McLorin Savant jazz concert. It is a beautiful building. The theater was clean as a whistle. The employees were wonderful as they directed us through the respective parts of the building. I have been to the Ritz for several events over the years. I have always had a great experience.
Driftwood Beach - JacksonvilleJessica Floyd: Tucked behind a peaceful half-mile trail lies one of the most beautiful beaches Iāve ever seen. White, soft sand meets scattered driftwood trees, creating a stunning scene that feels like something out of a dream. Gentle waves roll in and out, Mother Earth playing her soothing soundtrack as you take it all in. Itās a photographerās paradiseāevery angle is breathtaking.
I give it 5 stars and highly recommend visiting at least once in your lifetime. Pro tip: go around low tide for the best experience.
St. Johns River Light - JacksonvilleJudith dawson: Not open to the public since it is on a very active naval base, ranked 3rd. You can join the Florida Lighthouse Association, like I did and register for the visitation, meeting and tour the base, in a bus. Great time!
Branan Field Wildlife and Environmental Area - JacksonvilleMegan Coppage: Beautiful slice of old Florida hidden in Oakleaf. The parking area is small and only has an informative kiosk (no restrooms or water fountains). Trails are well marked and beginners friendly. There are also unmarked forest roads you can take. Dog-friendly.
Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park - JacksonvilleNoel Lovell: The other reviews are completely on point. I also drove by. Theres a very small parking area adjacent to a residential house and in a residential neighborhood.
There is a small marker commemorative monument, a park sign, and a few old cannons. That is the extent of the park outside of a short walk that looks around the park and leads back to the parking area.
I wouldnt drive all the way out there for this, but if you go to Dames Point Park down the street its only a 3 minute drive and worth a stop.
Van Zant House - Jacksonvillemichele hurst: If I could leave it a zero I would.
I understood it was supposed to be retro but filth is not retro.
The mold/mildew throughout the unit was ridiculous.
āRetroā does not excuse filthy sheets/broken dirty kitchen ware/no essentials like toilet paper.
We only stayed one night of our reservation snd, had it not been a high demand weekend or had we arrived before 11pm we would have left immediately.
Retro does not mean filth or unusable appliances.
Retro does not mean noise at all hours.
Retro does not mean stained sheets/ mold mildew everywhere.
The host is rude. Claims everything was perfectly clean when he watched his crew clean it the day before. Basically calling me a liar and then claiming booking.com never tried to contact him and that I did not have nor send him proof of the conditions. My photos here are the same proof I sent him.
EDIT: in response to hosts rebuff:
You stated you had left while the crew was cleaning and it was in perfect condition.
Anyone can see by the pictures posted that there is clearly mold/mildew on the ac unit.
The filth that is evident in the photos is clearly from not being properly cleaned for a length of time.
You also stated your crew would bring us clean sheets and toilet paper and as of 9:45am, they had not done that.
While the reviews before/after ours may be five stars, I will let the photos speak for themselves.
As for booking.com, not contacting you, that is between you and them. I did what I was supposed to do by calling them to cancel the remainder of my booking and request a refund.
Again, I sent you the same photos I posted to the email address you gave me. Regardless, they are posted in this review for you to see.
