1 /5 Deidre Harter: Buyer beware! My mother had her splenectomy done by Dr. Stockcamp. He said the surgery was not a walk in the park, but she would do well. After the surgery, Dr. Stockamp said everything was fine. Nothing unusual. My mother’s pain was not managed and I had to watch her suffer, horrific pain following the surgery because the numbing agents she was promised were not put in during the surgery. At post surgery visit, Dr. Stokcamp told my mother he was surprised that she made it through the surgery. We had no idea it was that critical. Later, she had imaging done for something else and found out that she had an accessory spleen that the doctor noted in his surgical notes. Dr. Stockcamp did not tell us about the accessory spleen, nor did he remove it. She was never the same after the surgery. The accessory spleen started growing and causing problems also. Be careful!
