Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare - Tallahassee Sunny Sunshine: I had a terrible experience during my recent visit to TMH ER. The ER doctor, made me feel unheard and dismissed my concerns. Despite clearly being in pain, he performed the bare minimum—only a blood draw—and told me I was fine without running any further tests that could have properly addressed my issue. To make matters worse, he NEVER sent my prescription to the pharmacy, leaving me without necessary medication.
Not only did this visit leave me stuck with an outrageous ER bill, but I also lost additional income because my health problem wasn’t resolved, forcing me to miss work. This was an extremely frustrating and costly experience with no resolution to my pain.
If you value compassionate, thorough care and effective treatment, I strongly recommend AVOIDING this hospital at all costs. Save yourself the money, time, and frustration. HCA Florida Capital Hospital - Tallahassee JD Kennedy: Nursing staff was skillful and kind, and managed good continuity of care despite understaffing and scheduling difficulties. Housekeeping and nutrition not so great. And infectious disease precautions insufficient— I was told AFTER I’d been exposed to other patients with flu; had I been warned in advance I could have masked and taken more precautions to avoid getting sick. The way you take blood pressure is completely wrong!
I was failed by my company because if it (avg 142/92) … according to Harvard.edu elbow should be heart level, and as such I needed 3 more blood pressure readings to pass that I done at VA Hospital in Tallahassee and was avg 121/75…. It was past midnight and from parking to registration to the evaluation station to getting monitored and treated...it was seamless. The staff was courteous and professional. They made sure I was comfortable while being treated. They informed me of all prodedures beforehand. They updated me quickly of the test results.

After enduring multiple rounds of sepsis before her arrival, the care team at Select went above and beyond to restore her health. When she first arrived, she was unable to get out of bed, stand, or walk. But by the time she left, she was walking with a walker and had made remarkable progress in her recovery. The doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, CNAs, and both OT and PT teams were exceptional. They listened to her needs, treated her with respect, and provided care that made her feel valued as a patient. The staffs attentiveness gave me complete confidence in their abilities, and I am incredibly grateful for their efforts. I highly recommend Select Specialty Hospital to anyone in need of long-term acute care. Tallahassee is fortunate to have this facility in our community. The nursing staff is highly knowledge and very kind and I appreciated that since my health was so bad when I came in.
