Letchworth-Love Mounds Archaeological State Park - Monticello (FL)

5 /5 Wind Tree Studios: Photos do not do justice to the size and beauty of this historic site. Although mostly overgrown with vegetation and trees, the mound is still clearly visible as you approach it from the parking area. You can also enjoy a decent view looking out from the top of the mound itself. There are also excellent museum quality educational displays and an excellent mural here as well. The energy here is quiet and grounded, making for a wonderful and relaxing experience overall.

5 /5 Mchoplite: This is a cool state park. The Native American mound found here is the oldest and tallest in the state of Florida. You can still observe the terraces off the main mound to this day. There is a short nature trail and an information kiosk at this site. Its not a very large park but you can burn about 1.5 hours here checking things out. For $2 it is an inexpensive excursion.

4 /5 Coco Bijan: All in all A super cool piece of ancient history. I love that Im able to learn so much about the indigenous people of Florida through the state parks. It is very peaceful and calm out here. I was the only one on a Saturday afternoon. The park is well maintained. The only reason I did not give five stars is the boardwalk has been out of commission for almost 2 years and that is disappointing

4 /5 Stephanie Girard: Be sure to check the FL state park site. The overlook was closed for repairs. Also, the mound is pretty overgrown. There are restrooms on site, and we did not explore the other mounds.

4 /5 Joanna Bernhardt Voss: Quiet, ample parking, great for a picnic. Viewing structure seemed sound for being 11 years old. Not much of a view though, the mound is completely grown over. There is a short trail, doesn’t look too overgrown.
