1 /5 Valery Duran Perez: NONA SMILES: the perfect clinic if you’re single, child-free, and have no plans to use the bathroom. Because if you dare show up with a child (even with a nanny and just in the waiting room), get ready for an experience straight out of an interrogation room.
The dentist? Amazing. Kind, professional, and his work is top-notch. Unfortunately, all of that is overshadowed by a woman (apparently the owner, and likely the dentist’s wife) who seems more focused on control than care. The moment I walked in with my one-year-old, I triggered her full “surveillance mode.” She followed me everywhere, waited outside the bathroom to lecture me, and reminded me multiple times that children aren’t allowed. At one point, she even suggested I should have him strapped down in a stroller. Seriously???
I came prepared: nanny included, respectful, doing my best not to disturb anyone. But apparently, being a mother is considered a punishable offense here. The discomfort was unreal, her attitude rude, and any sense of empathy? Nonexistent.
It was an uncomfortable, stressful, and completely unnecessary experience. It’s already hard enough to be alone in a country with no support system, without having a medical appointment turn into a session of judgment, surveillance, and zero empathy.
So if you’re looking for great dental work and a free serving of passive-aggressive mistreatment… you know exactly where to go ;)
