1 /5 Lisa B WorkAtHome: Took my husband to the ER on a Sunday. His complaint was excruciating pain in left testicle, lower abdominal pain and vomiting. On in-take, they never checked his temperature nor did they take a urine sample. They did not have a radiologist on-call so could not check for obstructions or a torsion. He was sent home with a script for a mild antibiotic and a painkiller with the caveat that if he didnt feel better he could come back on Monday or go to another facility. Considering the symptoms, a urine test is basic protocol. Had it been a torsion, that would have needed to been address immediately. Ended up going to Jackson Hospital and was properly diagnosed and treated.
