5 /5 David Hurtibise: Just had a fantastic family outing at the Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum. Firstly, the outdoor walking trails are a treat. There are two distinct paths, both easy to maneuver, thanks to their concrete and deck-like surfaces. These well-maintained trails offer a serene stroll through nature, making it enjoyable for both young kids and adults alike.
Inside, the museum was an unexpected delight. Immediately noticeable was its cleanliness, a detail that certainly extends to their restrooms as well. After enjoying the outdoors, the museums air conditioning provided a welcomed cool down. The place is tastefully decorated, featuring a plethora of taxidermy-style fake animals set within full diorama room-size settings – it felt like stepping into various slices of Floridas rich past.
Beyond the aesthetics, the museum does an excellent job of presenting pieces of significant historical importance. It offers a comprehensive look into the regions heritage, from early settler stories to natural history. For a father of two curious daughters, it was enlightening to see them so captivated by the blend of history and nature. If youre in the area, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit!
