5 /5 Jacqueline Phillips: Great spot to watch the sunset! Beachy area to hang out, and also little small areas to hunt for shells and play in the water. There are also areas specific for fishing and a boat launch. It also has a nice playground for the smaller kids and an animal rescue place. Didnt visit the animal rescue yet, but it looked interesting.

This park offers a wonderful combination of natural beauty and various recreational activities, making it a great destination for different interests. One of the standout features is the wildlife conservation preserve located within the park. Its inspiring to see the dedication to preservation, especially considering the challenges theyve faced. Recent hurricanes caused significant damage, with a devastating 9-foot storm surge that decimated their main buildings. Currently operating out of trailers for their office and gift shop, the staff, including a very knowledgeable individual named Barb, are doing commendable work. I was particularly captivated by Bella, a beautiful owl residing at the preserve. While their current facilities primarily house aviary animals, they have plans to include more land mammals as their new conservation building is developed with the help of visitor donations. Its heartwarming to know that visiting and donating directly supports these crucial conservation efforts. Beyond the conservation area, the park boasts a lovely beach with a unique blend of fine, white powder sand mixed with numerous broken seashells. It creates an interesting texture and is perfect for a relaxing stroll. For families, theres a childrens park, and for those who enjoy being on the water, the park also provides opportunities for fishing and a convenient boat launch to access the Gulf. Public restrooms are also available within the park. Ponce De Leon Park is a testament to natures beauty and human resilience. Despite recent challenges, it continues to offer a relaxing and engaging experience for all. Highly recommended!

3 /5 J Clayton: Nice little relaxing park with a small sand area. People were fishing off the small pier, and playing in the sand. It’s a good place to take young kids.

4 /5 Jody Eckler: Wow! It was hard to find the beach but Google helped. Only gave it a 4 star bc the boardwalk is still closed from the damage caused by the twin hurricanes that hurt Punta Gorda. Otherwise great place with beach, boat ramp, shelling, and fishing.

5 /5 DelVina Herbest: Clean. Beautiful. Softest sand Ive ever felt. Has a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and a playground. Kids found horseshoes crabs, beautiful shells, and coconuts.

Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens - Punta Gorda Deer Raar: We loved it! They had a Zimbabwe sculpture exhibition when we went, and there were a lot of sculptures for sale in the tent. The mangroves were gorgeous, and the plant life was stunning. The gift/snack shop was a welcome relief from the heat, and they offered some good frozen snacks. They even had ice cream for dogs! My favorite part was the gazebo that extended into the Peace River. Great view! The only thing Id change would be to add some shade on the walk to the riverside of the place. The parking was up by the welcome booth, sculptures, and butterfly house, but you have to go down past the entrance and across the street the see most of the plants. We didnt mind. It was just hot. And we went in March. Other than that, we loooved it! Would absolutely recommend.

Punta Gorda Boat Center - Punta Gorda Cassandra Nolan: The boat is in good condition as pictured and John, the host was quick to respond. My reason for 3 stars is due to the lack of disclosure about the motor being governed, only allowing us to move at 10mph max. It wouldn’t have been a major problem that I’d even bother mentioning if we weren’t encouraged to make the trek out to Boca Grande, which unnecessarily took us over an hour. It was a bit demoralizing to have others fly right past us with half the horse power. Aside from that, the boat couldn’t plane even with all of us sitting up front. 6/8 out of us ended up with heat exhaustion on the way back due to the inability to cool down from the lack of breeze while going max speed. I’m Florida born and raised and have spent my entire life on the water but yesterday was by far the worst bout of heat exhaustion I’ve ever experienced. I debated even sharing this information as I believe the governess is placed with good intention to prevent renters from injury but really would have appreciated the information so we could have made a more informed choice about where to travel about with 3 young children.

Babcock Wilderness Adventures - Punta Gorda Petw K: This was our third time out on the echo tour. Every trip is different because you never know what youre going to see as its thousands of acres and many animals roam around free and wild on their own. There are set routes that the open bus takes so you can sit back and take it all in. Conditions change with the seasons so depending on when you go the terrain can be anything from dry as a bone to something short of flood stage. It can get pretty bumpy on certain stretches of the trip but that is the charm of it and the buses are built for it too. The driver " guides" are full of local knowledge and the hour& half passes quickly. Kids of all ages should enjoy it. There is a small gift shop, snack/lunch shack , museums and other assorted features. I think next time well check it out during the wet season .

The staff was friendly and insightful, telling us about the local artists they featured and the process by which artists connected. A great variety in works was on display, both in 2D and 3D selections.

Babcock Ranch Eco Tours - Punta Gorda Christy Piper: A group of 6 of us reserved seats for the swamp buggy ride. This is on an old school bus with no glass pane windows, and great views. They sell them in advance for certain times. The first ride before us was full. I believe ours was around 10am. It was not as full, so we got more room to move around when animals came up to one side of the bus. We got to hold a small alligator, which was cool. We got to watch our tour guide feed several wild animals, including turkeys, pigs, steers, deer. The guide was so knowledgeable about the property, history, and animals. She loved the animals. The tour guide made the tour exciting for both kids and adults alike. I had a great day! Just be sure to use the bathroom ahead of time. Because it is a 1.5+ hour ride, and no bathrooms during the tour. Well worth the trip!

Starry Night Florida - Port Charlotte Derrick&6Strings: Extremely awesome experience. Learned a lot about the Greek mythology stories for the stars & we had snacks, chairs, and mosquito repellent. I’ll definitely be doing this again, and bring someone else with me. Was a core memory I’ll never forget. Jason was awesome

The sunset views were absolutely stunning and felt spiritual! Thank you, Captain, for allowing me the unforgettable experience of steering the boat! Seeing that dolphin swim alongside us for most of the tour was icing on the cake! Will take this tour again!!!
