1 /5 Salty Jean: After reading other reviews of patients who have experienced the "difficulties" I have had with this office, I see a very concerning pattern and I also realize I am not alone. I was a patient of Dr. Kosydar for years and NEVER had a problem. The service was rendered, my insurance was billed and if I owed, then I paid. So imagine my surprise when I was asked to pay my portion of a 2024 bill, up front...new owner. I was concerned, but since I never had a problem previously, I did as requested. Later,, after another visit I was told I would have to pay up on another visit on that because my insurance hadnt paid them. Hmmm. I called my insurance company who assured me they had paid the bill according to the schedule and that they covered it at 100%, meaning I had no responsibly and I NEVER DID. For any bill my insurance covered...I didnt owe anything. They now owed ME $260 for the that previous visit. When I pointed this out, I was assured that they would research this and reimburse me for what was owed. In May, they will have owed me that money for a year. I contacted my insurance company, who had three way phone calls that included the representative, the office personnel and me. And still, nothing. The office staff turnover was insane. This past December, I was once again having a procedure done and decided that I would push for the return of my money. OMG! Ive been handed so many excuses, I could write a book on scams. First excuse, seems the owner, Ms. Patel, is never available to sign a check. Second excuse, payment could not be made until they had no claims open with my insurance company. HINT: there was always a claim out there. Third excuse, the computer system was not capable of processing a check as long as a claim with my insurance was still outstanding. Get the grift? And to those who were told that Ms. Patel has NO obligations for outstanding debts accrued prior to her purchase of the business, anyone can google this and either she never consulted anyone regarding something called "Successor Liability" or shes lying. I would never call anyone Ive never met a liar, publicly. So you can imagine how angry and determined, I am. I most recently have sent a letter to her, outlining the past year regarding my exchanges with her office personnel and the outlandish nature of the excuses. I have not heard back yet, I guess shes busy or my latest claim (my insurance company assures me its been paid) is till outstand and will be until another procedure can be take place that will once again, put that pesky insurance claim between me and my reimbursement. To those of you who have yet to realize that you may be the next victim...let me offer some advice. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU EVER PRE-PAY FOR ANYTHING AND ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY PRIOR TO ENGAGING IN A CONVERSATION REGARDING YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. A year of this insanity and bold faced lying is more than anyone should ever accept and I regret that a year of medical problems and complete exhaustion made me an easy target. It was just too much to address properly, but I dont have those issues anymore......
