5 /5 Charlie Shaffer: I brought my NC2 Miata to Rob & the team at Skip’s Automotive for driveline concerns I was having with the car. After a thorough inspection, we narrowed down the need for a fresh clutch & flywheel. Skip’s installed a Flyin’ Miata Level 1 clutch with an OE flywheel, and the car feels great! Totally brought it back to life. Labor was quoted at an extremely competitive rate compared to local “big name” shops in the area, and had an excellent turnaround time. Next step will be a turbo kit & dyno tuning, which I will absolutely have this shop do all the work & tuning on. 10/10. When I inevitably break more sh- on this car, I know where I’m taking it!

5 /5 Chris Smith: Best Performance shop in Sarasota, FL and surrounding areas. I have a C7 Z06 that they tuned. Did an amazing job. Rob went above and beyond as my car was only making 4psi of boost, he knew it should be higher so he found out the previous owner/dealer capped off an important fitting which should be uncapped. Doing that made car go from 4psi to 9.5psi of boost. A week after being tuned my car had work done at dealer (under warranty) and they ‘reflashed’ the tune back to stock so one call to Rob and he just said stop back in and he immediately reloaded his tune into the car. No charge; they again, go above and beyond. I will ONLY be taking my car to Skips going forward. I am driving my car for 1 week to ensure warranty issue is fixed, then next appointment to drop off car for ported blower, lower pulley and re-tune. I will keep everyone updated as I continue to get work done. So far 5 stars! I was worried about the few 1 star’s at first (I’m picky with my car) —> But Rob removed ALL doubts with his work, his service and just 5 stars. (Rob is the best tuner I’ve seen) Thanks!

Scope out repairs, honest quotes. Repair in a timely fashion. Gave me a discount for not using credit card. Look no further, Skips Auto Sarasota, FL.+my Honda Civic drove well and made it to Texas after Skips Auto Shop completed repairs.

1 /5 CtsV2014: This is how Skip"s auto does exhaust work half done welds, or just tack welds on the right side, rubber washer holding up the right side to stop the rattling. They have a 3inch exhaust with a 2.5inch shoved into the 3inch on the right side with 4 tack welds holding it in place, with the rubber supporting it. The power cable is resting on top of the headers which could have caused a fire. Exhaust clamps were found loose along with the wide-band 02 bung loose. The tune they wrote was not done right, nor was it scaled properly. Data log shows fueling from idle to part throttle 10% rich, Vehicle also exhibited spark knock under load. I dont understand why skips auto said could handle working on my car. The also had the car for over a week and couldnt tune it or put it together the right way. They told me i need a clutch when they couldnt get the tune right. Gave me the keys an said i need a new clutch which I dont the car only has 30000 miles on it the clutch is fine. Also skips auto is under new owner ship the current owner has had the business for a little over 6 months. He claims that he has been tuning cars for about 6 years I dont know if thats the truth or not. I just really disappointed in how much money i spent with them just to get a car that almost caught on fire. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. They will do nothing but try an scam you out of your money. Had to spend more money to get this all fixed. ALSO DOESNT RETURN PHONE CALLS UPDATE: it appears someone else as been burned by this scammer. Update: I just noticed it said you reached out. It doesnt matter if you reached out. You let the vehicle leave the shop in this condition without saying anything. Or even acknowledge that the exhaust was that hacked up. The tune was a joke. I still have the car to day with a way better tune and no exhaust holes. I never intended on having you fix it. Five Bar Motorsports in Ft Myers fixed my car perfectly.

5 /5 Kim Livengood: There is no one I would trust more with my car than Skips Automotive. They have worked on my newer cars and my vintage cars. They are honest, reliable, and have all the modern technology. Plus, they are across the street from The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime. So I can shop if I have to wait!
