5 /5 Sharanya Sarkar: The Southernmost Point definitely feels touristy, but it still felt like a real accomplishment — especially since we’ve been to the northernmost point of the U.S. before, and this trip was a full road trip all the way from Massachusetts! Parking can be a bit tricky to find, but once youre there, the surrounding area is beautiful with stunning blue waters. There are plenty of food options and souvenir shops nearby, and Hemingway’s House is just a short walk away. A fun and meaningful stop, especially if you enjoy checking iconic landmarks off your list!

5 /5 Carlotta Fernbush: Super cool to check out but I suggest getting there either morning or after the sun goes down, otherwise you will be waiting in a line in the hot blistering sun as well as forming a line in front of residential homes, which I would imagine is a bit aggravating. We got there when the sun went down & there was no waiting for a picture at all. Thank you to my incredibly amazing husband for crossing, yet another thing, off my bucket list.

5 /5 Justin Hoffman: I never in a million years thought I would get the chance to visit this location. However, I just got my picture made here with the love of my life. It was a bucket list thing for myself. If you come to Key West.. then you have to stop by and get your picture made here. It’s free, someone is always willing to take your picture for free, and did I mention you’re only 90 miles away from Cuba!

5 /5 Fred Reilly: Its a point. Schedule your visit based on cruise ships in town. If the cruise ship is in town, theres a long line. I waited until after 5:00 p.m. after the cruise ship left and there was no wait. Its a beautiful spot. If you get there just before sunset you can take some great photos. And while youre there, go to Pepes for dinner. Bacon cheeseburger was delicious and so are the fries but the key lime pie was the best Ive ever had .

Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum - Sacramento

amy meier: We did a tour at the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum with my college art class. They have guided tours guided by docents. Its like walking through pages of a history book. Very beautiful mural paintings created by African American artists adorn the walls. There are also small businesses inside the large building. you can find anything from gorgeous bold African printed handmade clothing to hairstylists to lawyers and an advocacy center. We made a donation of $12 but that couldve been a lowered price for the students. Check it out if you have time. I highly recommend it.

Leo Carrillo Historic Park - Carlsbad

Sunita Vij: A true hidden gem. Seeped in history and serenity. Huge grounds for meandering around and lots of shaded areas for a relaxing picnic. Park volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. We got a nice tour of the structures and stables. Also spotted 3 peacocks strutting about.

San Pedro Springs Park - San Antonio

P L: Unfortunately, this pool is not open until “the 2025 pool season” according to the city’s page. I’m not sure when exactly that is but I’ll make an effort to update this after I call them. We made the trip from the Austin area and were disappointed to see it was totally closed and there were several homeless people surrounding the area. We left quickly since we had a backup plan anyway. The pool itself is quite dry but would be beautiful once open. Google said this pool is open but this is not the case.

Nasher Sculpture Center - Dallas

Sophie Crash: The lovely Nasher Sculpture Center in the Dallas Arts District hosts their “Til Midnight” event once a month between March and October. It’s free entry to the gallery and the sculpture center, live music, and a family-friendly movie. The museum usually closes at 5. I have been dozens of times and seen a lot of cool stuff here. The gallery always rotates so there is something new to see! The docents are very nice!

Crow Museum of Asian Art of The University of Texas at Dallas - Dallas

Nicole Parker: Came here on a late weekday afternoon & it was a very pleasant experience. The building the museum is held in is quite charming. There was no wait. No crowd. Museum is on the smaller side. 3 floors showcasing beautiful Japanese artifacts—a couple of textiles but mostly stonework/pottery. The museum was FREE but donations are welcome. A parking garage is available for $5/hour during the week.

The serene atmosphere instantly lifts the spirits and creates a sense of tranquility. The waterfalls are particularly stunning, making it an ideal place to unwind and enjoy the evening. I highly recommend visiting this place for a leisurely walk with your partner.

Jakes Hilltop Park - Flower Mound

Brian Jones: Newly renovated, Jake’s Hilltop playground is nicely improved! The new equipment is fun and still challenging for the kids. The shaded swing set is nice, but only two regular swings. Our kids also enjoyed the light up challenge game. It was a missed opportunity for the town to add some shaded benches, though, and no word so far on the promised future splashpad. Still a great improvement to the playground.

Heritage Park - flower mound - Flower Mound

Elizabeth Sanders: This park has separate playgrounds for children ages 2-5 and then 5 and up. Both playgrounds are fenced in, which is great for wandering toddlers. The toddler playground also has astroturf instead of woodchips. Highly recommend this park.
