1 /5 breeana freyre: How does this dentist sleep at night. This is fair warning to beware and it does not hurt to get a second opinion or change dentist.
My husband went in to fix his mouth. He came home with an outrageous list of work to be done. Thousands of dollars of work to be done with insurance paying for some, and an outrageous out of pocket amount in the thousands.
My husband was nervous and just wanted to get it done because of the amount of work he was told needed to be done. The problem came when they asked him to apply for and pay the entire cost on a care credit account. Why not just charge him for the work he is about to get done right before he gets it done? Because they are greedy! So he tells me he has to get it done so I start paying monthly for care credit and he goes to them to start getting work done. I made sure to do the math to pay off care credit before interest would be charged which meant before he finished all the work to be done I was already finished paying.
Well something not so good happens and ends up being a blessing in disguise. What happens is, his insurance changes at work and this office no longer accept his insurance. We have to find a new dentist or pay per procedure entirely at cost. But why? We already paid for every procedure in full as they instructed. Well that’s not how insurance works
I’m okay with finding him a new dentist which I did. Tell me why the new dentist says to him that he doesn’t need much work to be done in his mouth while Dr. Hans Sperling office quoted him so much work and so much money.
If you think it wasn’t bad enough this dentist was committing fraud, let’s get down to the fact that they were paid in full through us financing the entire long list of procedures through care credit.
I called them to discuss my husbands balance that was remaining and what can be done. Office manager said he can come back and finish up the work to be done but it might be more money because of the time spent in between procedures, “the teeth may have gotten worse,” and the insurance was no longer accepted by their office. I said no he won’t be back he just wanted a refund. She the told me she couldn’t speak with me regarding this and my husband had to call and request it himself.
My husband works a 9-5 and never made the time to call to discuss the remaining balance. I called back again a few months later hoping to get someone else to help me and was told that there was no balance and they had recently changed the system they used prior to a new system.
I was told that If a refund was due that it was already rendered. Well no refund was ever given. Now they have no recollection of anything and it seems like a loss because he hadn’t been seen in over a year, but the remaining balances should have been refunded or at least sent to unclaimed funds, neither of which happened.
On another note one thing your insurance gives you for free every year is a cleaning. This office wants to capitalize on every and anything, they charge extra for cleaning by adding a cost for a solution they use to “prevent infection”. Sometimes refusing to do a cleaning unless you pay their fee. I wish it was all just a bad nightmare. Stay away don’t visit this place it is a disgraceful place.
