St. Gregorys Episcopal Church - Boca Raton (FL)

5 /5 Michael Barton: A very caring, engaged, and active Church with dynamic and diverse leadership and programs. The congregation is very welcoming to all, including through significant work with the homeless and disadvantaged communities in our city. As the Episcopal Church says, you are welcome no matter where you are on your spiritual journey. I think Saint Gregorys really embodies this, and I have very quickly felt like family.

5 /5 Catherine Warren: My family started attending church at St. Greg’s about ten years ago. Chris and I had visited many churches between Palm Beach and Miami looking for a home. The first Sunday we attended, Father Andrew gave a sermon based on Don Henley’s song “Heart of the Matter”. He spoke about forgiveness, and it is still the most riveting speech of any kind that I have ever heard. My husband and I both love the pomp and circumstance of high church, and you get the incense and flags here that we both knew were missing in our lives. We returned with the children, and their programs ranged from complimentary violin classes with loaner violins for the children to church retreats in the mountains of North Carolina. As traditional Southerners, we dress up for church, and this is one of the few churches that we did not feel out of place in suits and dresses. However, the church members are non traditional in that they are diverse, accepting to absolutely everyone, and socially liberal. It is truly a church that walks the walk and talk of Christ, and it does so with style and flair.

1 /5 EUREKA LINDER: The outreach program that distributes the food to the needy is 1 star. They are doing good by feeding the needy but those attitudes are horrific to be represented by God. God will not be pleased with the treatment by Gina and another Italian women. They should repent those bad attitudes because it’s a turn off. You come in happy to get what you need for your family and leave out feeling like they really didn’t want to help you and they make you feel like they are there to save face a just look good. God judges your heart not what you look like you are doing right. They complain about every little thing oh my. God doesn’t like complainers. People who are not satisfied with anything. I pray they get new staff and directors to over see the program because if you survey the visitors they would tell you to replace them asap! They need heart transplants because God is not pleased. I pray they are given a break and retraining on how to deal with people who fall on hard times and that they are never on the other end of this spectrum. If they are I pray they receive better treatment than what they displayed.

5 /5 C Sherman: One of the nicest churches in downtown Boca Raton. The Rector was very friendly and welcomed us warmly. We noticed that there was a great deal of activity with both cultural events and Outreach for the needy and poor in the area. It was nice to see a congregation that is balancing both sides of the equation, great activity for its own Parish family and being sensitive and responsive to the needs of the community. It impressed us as a wonderful congregation and a good place to worship. I can assure you we will be back to visit anytime we are in the area. Its a beautiful facility and it has plenty of parking right by the church. If youre new to the area I strongly recommend checking it out.
