3 /5 Rashad Hasan: Great fishing spot, but no bank fishing allowed and visitors will be asked to present a Florida fishing license.. you’ll be limited to using the docks to fish but there’s plenty docks at the first lake near the entrance. You have to check in and check out …. A little bit too much hassle just to cast a line for a few hours… Bring live bait or worms no luck on lures for me … good news is that there’s tons of fish and variety… worms will be guaranteed to catch you something especially if you have younger children first timers…

4 /5 James C: Great spot for fishing if you’re looking for peace and quiet. The lakes are well-maintained and stocked—landed a few decent bass without too much effort. You’ll need a permit, but it’s cheap and easy to get. The staff at the check-in station were helpful and gave solid advice on which lakes were biting. Bring bug spray and be ready to hike a bit depending on where you’re fishing. Not crowded, which is a big plus.

5 /5 Steven Smith: Beautiful lakes plenty of bank fishing shooting range archery course. Aswell as a horse trail. 3 dollars and your liscense to go in. Its wonderful for the fisherman in you.

3 /5 Mary Ashley: We hiked the 2.5 mile blue trail, starting at Picnic Lake - after stopping to register at the Visitor Center. The $3 entry fee was waived for anyone over 65. We enjoyed the hike, however, didn’t encounter any wildlife which is why we only rated this 3 stars. Merlin did ID a number of birds using sound ID - but we didn’t actually see many birds. The trail was well marked with 75 ft elevation change. There was a nice turnout that was handicap accessible overlooking a small lake. This appeared to be a popular location for fishing and shooting.

4 /5 H Wang: To use this hiking trail, you must stop at the main office at 3755 Tenoroc Mine Rd, Lakeland, FL, to pay the $3 fee and get a parking pass. I hiked here with WTM meetup group for the elevation and scenic views, which are rare to find in Central Florida. We completed the 3-mile loop at least three times, doing over-and-backs on the "Strenuous" section to build endurance, though the elevation made it feel like more. The loop is easy to navigate and well-marked.
