5 /5 laura micalizzi: This place is wonderful! Me and my adult age daughter wanted to get some steps in and figured we’d give this place a shot. It was so peaceful and the landscape was beautiful. A Florida rainstorm had just moved through and dropped buckets of rain, so we didn’t venture through all the wooded paths, but we did do almost all of it. There’s goats and chickens and pigs and alligators and also an indoor space with some snakes and turtles. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back when it’s sunny. We are adults and didn’t do all the trails and we were there about 2 hours. If it was drier, we may have been there a little longer. Highly recommend!

5 /5 Michelle Tuetken: I took five of my grands there just yesterday and it was wonderful. The open air, the trails, the animals, and the amphitheater were nice to explore. It felt very organic, not like a zoo. We took our time and toured outside, then went inside on both floors. This was very educational and my grands really enjoyed themselves. Ages 12 to six. We will come back again. Also, the staff were very kind.

5 /5 Alexis Hendricks: 1st visit here and I loved it! The prices are reasonable priced and there a lot to see. The animals look well taken care of and are very friendly. I can’t wait for the butterfly area to be open, there was so many just flying around. The trails are just so beautiful. The staff were very friendly and didn’t seem to mind when my toddler was yelling or screaming because she was scared of the bear, gator, and the turtle jumping into the water. We’ll be coming back here more. My family had a good time When wet the board walk can be slippery so be careful.

5 /5 Jen Nifer: Love it here. A little slice of paradise in Jax. Take your time on the trails. There are many natural treasures to find. Clean bathrooms and food available for the goats. Picnic tables for your lunch.

Castaway Island Preserve - Jacksonville S D: Beautiful nature gateway. Pretty small trail but very peaceful. Great to come here on a New Year’s Day walk. Sadly did not see much wild life but there are many informative signs of the wild life animals that do live in the salty marsh environment. It was my first time observing this type of environment. There is a main Island trail and on the side there are some observance spots as well.

Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens - Jacksonville Pilar Rodriguez: Such a peaceful and beautiful place! We visited the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens with our dog and we loved it. The trails are well-maintained and easy to follow, with gorgeous views and a mix of shaded and sunny areas. It felt safe and super relaxing. My pup was happy sniffing around and walking the trails (on leash, of course), and there were plenty of spots to stop, rest, and enjoy nature. It’s a perfect little escape from the city—definitely worth the $3 entry. We’ll be back soon!

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park - Jacksonville dope!Mike: Had a nice relaxing three day stay at this park while exploring the area. I like how theres a beach across the street from the Campground. Makes for easy sunset walks or an early morning swim.

James Weldon Johnson Park - Jacksonville Alex Vane1: stopped by James Weldon Johnson Park during Art Walk Night and was blown away by the energy and creativity on display. The park came alive with local artists showcasing their work, live music filling the ai, and food trucks lining the edges with the scent of great eats. The lighting and setup gave the whole space a vibrant, welcoming vibe. It was the perfect mix of community, culture, and downtown nightlife. Whether youre into visual art, live performance, or just enjoying a good crowd, Art Walk at JWJ Park is a must-experience part of Jacksonvilles local scene.

Big Talbot Island State Park - Jacksonville Jessica Hollon-Tuell: The trail is longer than I expected, to get to the beach but it was a nice, pleasant walk. The beach itself was gorgeous! All the dead trees really gave it a mildly spooky, cool, ethereal vibe and the waves were so mild, we just chilled in the water for hours.

Little Talbot Island State Park - Jacksonville 303of3: We enjoyed this beach so much! It is less crowded and has a more rustic, natural beach setting. The sand is soft and the beach area is clean. There are lots of shells available on the beach as well.

Memorial Park - Jacksonville Faith Ross: Well designed park space with an expansive view of the St. Johns River. Trees and landscaped gardens border the the outside of a wide pedestrian circular walking path. Benches along the walkway are given ample shade by the bordering trees. The center of the park remains a wide open grass area for picnics or a game of catch. The open area also enhances the view of its dramatic riverside sculpture and the river. The azaleas were spectacular this year!

The Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary - Jacksonville Donna Marie Crawford: I really enjoyed my visit to this sanctuary. The enclosures are beautifully equipped nice size and the staff really know their stuff. There was an older woman just walking around with a volunteer t-shirt on giving us all kinds of information about the animals It was a wonderful time. I was able to capture some great videos I hope youre able to take the time to watch and go visit. All the money from visitors goes to helping the sanctuary continue to run and supply for the animals that are there. I will be returning with my husband next time. Id also like to add it as absolutely wheelchair friendly I went by myself an electric wheelchair and all was well. Lots of good vibes and kids enjoying animals they would never otherwise be able to see. Thank you thank you thank you for providing such a wonderful place for these animals that came from such horrible conditions. This is definitely a heartfelt mission for these folks and I would support them 100%.

Jacksonvilles "Hands On" Childrens Museum - Jacksonville Rachel Anderson: Had no idea of what to expect upon entering. Tons of children were here on Saturday. It was loud, a bit crowded, and very hot. Like the air conditioning did not work. The kids did not seem to mind, but I as a parent was miserable. I did enjoy watching the kids in full imagination mode. My daughters favorite room to play in was the veterinarian office. They had a McDonalds playplace crammed in there which was cool to see. The toys were very vintage which was charming and nostalgic. My daughter had a good time overall, but I would not return unless they fixed the AC issue. It was unbearable. $7.00 per person including adults, we stayed 2 hours.

K1 Speed - Indoor Go Karts, Corporate Event Venue, Team Building Activities - Jacksonville Julio Torres: there was 4 in our group. 2 adults and 2 teenagers. we had a blast racing around the track. it was our 1st ever experience in a place like this and it was great. we actually enjoyed watching other races as well. we will definitely be back very soon.
