3 /5 Kendra Bandy: My general complaint isn’t about the doctors or nurses. They’re great. I know specialty books out and they can’t help that. My complaint is about the billing department. When you make a payment through the online portal it doesn’t automatically go to the oldest invoice and it doesn’t give you that option. It just pays towards the most recent one.so even though you make monthly payments on your balance, like I’ve been doing, an invoice will show as past due and then they’ll send it to collects. The only form of communication of this is one single letter in the mail. A letter I never received. Maybe it went to an old address or got lost in the mail. All I know is I never received the letter. They never called me. They never emailed me. Just one single letter in the mail. So once it went to collections it was removed from invoice balance on my patient portal. Unbeknownst to me, I had a bill sent to collections. I paid my full balance. Or so I thought, in October of last year. I’m just now being told that I have an outstanding balance, that does NOT show on my portal so yes I’m mad. Getting hit with a surprise bill that I didn’t know was there when I thought it was paid of is so stupid. Not to mention the hit to my credit for something I didn’t know. Also, when sent to collections, their third party collections person never contacted me either. So there goes my credit on a bill I didn’t even know existed. Pay your bill in full to avoid this outrageous policy they have or set up a payment plan. Just paying your balance monthly through the patient portal apparently isn’t a payment plan and they just ignore that completely. It’s a policy they need to change asap. And they need to call or email people and stop using the unreliable snail mail system.
