5 /5 Di: Today I stopped at the Yamato Scrub Natural Area during my bike ride on the El Rio Trail. I only do this when the temperturare is a bit cooler. This is a 217 acre preserved area atop the Atlantic Coastal Ridge in Boca with a few hiking trails. There are 5 habitats to explore & several cross trails so you can create a longer hike if these trails are to short for you. I made my own loop today including the .7 Mike paved Cicada Nature Trail with a little bit of the Sky blue Lupine Hiking Trail - the sandy Trail. I was thrilled to spot a Gopher Tortoise on this gorgeous day. I highly recommend this area - youll want to go back again and again if you like nature and wildlife !

5 /5 Bryan H: While the entrance to the area is easy to miss and the parking is very limited, the trails are definitely worth the time. There is a 1/2 to 3/4 mile sidewalk trail that leads to 2 different sand/dirt trails. The trails range from wide open to narrow with brush growth on both sides. While you will definitely hear vehicle traffic for most of your walk/run, the surroundings help you to forget you are so close to 95.

5 /5 Bonni Smith: A hidden treasure in the middle of nowhere. I heard about the scrubs, and it took a few weeks to figure out where it was on my own before I finally googled the entrance. It was very serene. I am glad there was a cement path. Although you could venture out to the side trails that had a dirt path. I went about 4pm during the week. There are 10 parking spots. One of them handicapped. There were several spots still open, and the people there were a mix of office workers taking a break from local area to a dog walker , tourists, and people like me who love walking in nature. The peace and serene and gentleness of the area were worth a trip. I am a nature bird person. I did see an egret and a beautiful red cardinal swoop by a turtle and a huge butterfly. The real beauty of the place was the vegetation. Highly recommend.

5 /5 Maria DelMar Jaramillo: We loved it! The entrance was a little hard to find, but overall the experience was nice. Theres a small parking lot and theres 3 trails, we took the longer one which is around 3 miles (we promised ourselves to come back and do the other trails another day). Even though you can hear the I95 traffic in the background, the vegetation was beautiful and its perfect for a little scape.

Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park - Boca Raton Bill Lozano: I’ve been to this park a few times to take walks. It’s a large park and my wife and I will walk 3 to 5 miles around it. During the week it’s not busy but even on weekends you will find places to park without any issues. This 872 acre park has almost everything. Tennis center, pickleball, baseball fields, volleyball, golf course, racquetball/handball courts, water park, canoe/kayak launch, picnic areas with grills, playground for ages 2-5 years, ages 5-12 years, ages 2-12 years, Amphitheaters, Dog park, running path, Daggerwing Nature Center and so much more. You can enter from Yamato Road, Park Access Road or Glades Road. The park is always kept in good shape but they have some electrical issues so bathrooms are closed but porta potties have been installed until the issues are fixed. Also some field and parking lot lights aren’t working. Since this park is in far western Boca it’s not as busy as most other parks in the Boca, Delray,Boynton area.

Boca Express Train Museum - Boca Raton Melissa Dan: Great historical place to go to learn about the history of the boca train museum. The interactive tour inside of the train reenacting the experience is very original and is a must do if you have kids or are taking students on a field trip. I would highly recommend this place for elementary students to go on a field trip.

Coconut Cove Waterpark and Community Center - Boca Raton Liontude LLC: Great way to entrain the kids. Driving is about 45 mins for me but it’s definitely worth it. Saturday we were there from 10-1pm my kids had fun. Weather was perfect, there was a lot of people but enough space so we can play and enjoy without feeling crowded. Big slides were fun, lazy river not crowded, 4ft pool has a decent size and the playground for the little ones has a lot of options(just be careful is a lot of water falling and it could be overwhelming for little ones and babies). They sell snacks but no hot food, bring your own or order DoorDash like we did, also you cannot use your own floats.

Pinewoods Park - Boca Raton Joe Graham: The park has three baseball fields for youth sports. The fields are well maintained and utilized by local teams most days. The playground is a bit weatherbeaten and the day we visited, there was no one playing there. Parking and restrooms are tidy and sufficient for a park of this size. A small lake is situated behind the ball fields and separates the park from a large subdivision.

Sand Pine Park - Boca Raton Alanna Avalone: Pine Sand Park is one of our favorite spots! We bike there at least three times a week, it’s become a special part of our routine. My toddler, Liane, loves it every time. It’s a clean, peaceful park with just the right mix of open space and nature. So lucky to have it right next to our home!

Greater Boca Raton Beach District - Boca Raton Robert D: Their limited resources (only 3 employees) requires most of their budget to go through the city for maintaining the parks in the city. The city must approve improvements proposed for their Boca Teeca property & the city council has denied approval of golf amenities 3+ times in the past=dont ask the BPD for golf in their next proposal.

Sandalfoot Cove Park - Boca Raton Nefertiti Toussaint: This is a nice small neighborhood playground which is enclosed by a fence. Best for smaller kids. Plenty of benches to watch the kids. A restroom for male and female. There is a baseball field and plenty of parking.

Forest Hills Park - Boynton Beach Mary Leyzeaga: Small park, only a little park for kinds. No bathroom in this park. Small parking. A lot of people go there with dogs. Some people go there to smoke. Sometimes is weird this park. You need to bring your own water and snacks. You dont have nothing close to buy snacks.
