1 /5 Kate Buckley: I came into the Monkees of Naples the other day lured by the attractive window display and purchased two dresses. I told the friendly sales associate that I wasnt sure about them and would need to try them on at home with the proper foundation garment (I was wearing a sundress without a bra). That would have been an excellent time for her to alert me to the stores draconian return policy. And yet she said nothing. Nor was there anything visibly posted in the store.
I was only alerted to it AFTER I had purchased the dresses (and their dresses are not inexpensive: $200 - $400 per dress on average) and read the very fine print on the sales receipt: exchange or store credit only within 10 days. As the dresses werent a good fit, I emailed the owner and asked her to make an exception as 1.) I had just purchased the dresses the day before and they were pristine with tags attached, etc. 2.) I advised the sales associate that I wasnt sure about them and was not advised of the return policy 3.) I live in CA so a store credit does me no good.
The owner refused to make an exception and was quite snarky in her reply. Reading the other reviews on both Google and Yelp, this seems to be a pattern with her. NOTE: This is a franchise and this particular owner, Sarah Woodworth, owns the Monkees in Naples, FL, Lexington, KY, and Louisville, KY. Buyer beware!
