Christina Aulet Well, where do I begin? Derek and I met in Niagara Falls, NY many years ago. He styled mine and my daughters hair for several years. Before meeting Derek I wandered from one stylist to another. I couldnt find the right fit until I somehow ran into Derek and his wife Alex. Derek is kind, understanding, remains current on hair styles and spends quality time with his clients. When I found out that he was moving I was literally crushed. Fast forward to now. Twenty years later I met up with Derek in Florida. We moved about 40 miles from his salon. I was able to visit his new salon and had my hair colored, but and styled. I didnt realize how much I missed his expertise and cuts. I highly recommend Derek and his Salon. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The salon is also in a great location if you want enjoy a day of shopping and eating. Happy to back!

Florian Trinkwalder Derek is just amazing. It‘s really hard to find someone who knows how to cut men‘s long hair. Derek is the best. I‘m 1000% happy with my cut. Alexia washed my hair and also was fantastic. Great atmosphere and outstanding customer service. Thank you so much ❤️

Erica Calvello I am a platinum blonde, Ive worn this color for over 20 years and know how hard it is to get it right. I had my color done by Elena and she knocked it out of the park! Not only did she get it right she gave the best scalp massage! I do not mind spending a little extra for a luxury experience. The salon is stunning and everyone was so nice you can tell that Derek has created an exceptional team. Will be back!!

Katz Katz I walked in blind. Haven’t had a real haircut in almost three years. Was greeted by a stylist Jeanette and made appointment that had to be ASAP due to a wedding I am going out of town for on Friday. She came in on her only day off to accommodate my schedule. Honestly it was an amazing experience! I absolutely love my hair. It is so healthy and exactly what I asked her to do. If I could rate a ten star I would! Thank you so much Jeanette

Tom Tom Sunny and her team have fantastic personalities. I’m incredibly grateful to Sunny for fitting me in day-of, last minute booking and straight from the airport. It’s been two weeks since my appointment and my nails are still looking great. Natural transition from my nail bed, thin layers and zero lift.

Natalie Vargas Nedvetsky Laura is the sweetest, and gave me the best haircut of my life. I never write reviews, but I wanted to shout her out. I live in NYC and was in Sarasota just for a couple of days, otherwise Id go to her forever! Thanks Laura :)

Robin Lehman Sunny at Sarasota Salon and Spa is one of the best nail techs Ive been to. I have a hard gel manicure, and she does a great job. She really makes sure everything is perfect and the way you want it before you leave.

Alexis Marquess Apartment 12 and Laura are amazing. I have been going to Laura for a couple years for highlights and she does a great job. I was especially happy this last time as I went in for highlights and since I have curly hair and leave the salon with wet hair, it is hard to see the finished product when I am there. Anywho, when I got home and styled my hair myself I was expecting a bit more blonde highlight then I saw. I emailed Laura and she was so kind. She got me in within 2 weeks, which is great considering how booked they are! She added more highlights free of charge and it came out amazing. I am so happy! Thank you to Apartment 12 and Laura! I would 100% recommend!

Casey Stephenson Laura AND Apartment 12 is the only place I would recommend in Sarasota. Laura has been my stylist for over 15 years and I cant say enough about her talents. I would say I am a picky client and she makes it happen EVERY time, no matter what I request, change or dream of. Apartment 12 is where hair GOALS come true. I get numerous compliments on the color and the health of my hair. JUST STOP reading reviews. AND GO. I promise. xoxoxo

Kat M Whitney is the best!! At another salon I received a bad color and my hair was dyed black instead of brown. Whitney gave me several options and was able to fix it in one sitting. I feel comfortable getting pictures and video made at work now. Whitney is very fair in pricing and flexible with scheduling. I highly recommend Whitney and look forward to her being my new stylist. She’s the best!!!

V Berden My 5 star review is specifically for Kylie. She is absolutely amazing when it comes to my color. She’s never disappointed me or my son. She has fixed other stylist’s mistakes and has always done an unbelievable job. I’m so thankful to have found her.

Kristine Mcwilliams I love my hair! Kylie recently did a color correction on my brassy color and I have never been more pleased. She gave me a beautiful natural looking Balayage. I highly recommend her and look forward to my next appointment.

Crystal Castle I had the absolute pleasure of getting my hair done by Taylor at Soultary Salon today, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Taylor’s expertise and attention to detail are unmatched. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted, offered great advice, and executed it perfectly. I left feeling so confident and thrilled with the results! The salon itself is a hidden gem. It’s beautifully designed with a modern yet cozy vibe that makes you feel pampered the moment you walk in. The staff is welcoming and professional, and you can tell they genuinely care about their clients. Taylor’s kindness and talent truly stood out. She made the experience feel personal and relaxing, and I’m already looking forward to my next appointment. If you’re looking for a stylist who delivers amazing results in a beautiful setting, I can’t recommend Taylor and Soultary Salon enough!

hmforrester I had a wonderful experience today at this salon. George cut and styled my hair. I know nothing about hair or what to do with mine. Whenever I go to get my hair cut, I always hope that someone will help me know what will look best with my hair. George was an answer to that prayer today. I went in asking for layers but he helped me understand how that would not achieve what I really wanted. He suggested texturing. He also educated me on how to maintain my hair and get more from my natural waves/curls. Ive never been so happy leaving a hair salon. I feel so good about my hair and have some new knowledge on how to better care for my hair. I also want to mention all the other staff and how warm and welcoming they are with everyone who walks through the door. Ive definitely found my home salon.

Marcia Cuttler George is a real professional in this field, an excellent Stylist and understands hair color is very individual for each client. He is very Creative, Courteous, Customer Oriented, and I always feel he is looking out for me. The staff at the front desk is always very welcoming and helpful. I would never think of going anywhere else!!!

Stephanie Reed I was in town for a few days visiting / relaxing. I asked my friend for some recommendations and was told to try Yellow Strawberry. I called up in the morning and was able to get in within 15 minutes. I came in for a trim and ended up donating 9 inches of hair. The salon was professional, clean, and very positive about the donation. Listening to other customers sitting at adjacent chairs it is obvious they are regulars so that speaks a lot to the stylists at this location.

Elise Mole I have had the same Ouidad curly hair hairdresser cutting my hair for years so I was skeptical about trying someone new. Bridget was AWESOME! Gave me a great haircut!! I could tell she was very experienced and knew exactly what I needed. I tried another place last year and the haircut didn’t come close to Bridget’s. Aside from all that, she was easy and awesome to talk to! The salon is clean and so cute and Bridget made me feel immediately welcomed! If you’re looking for a curly girl pro, stop looking! Bridget’s your girl!

Missy Steele Bridget is absolutely amazing. She is great with curly hair and color. I love this studio! The energy and expertise will keep me coming back. Also, its really hard to find someone certified to do curly hair.

Kristin Antalavits New client to Bridget coming in with out-of-control curly hair. Hadnt have a cut since August due to hurricanes and then my stylist left the salon. Found Bridget and SHE IS MY GODDESS. So good with the curls. Immediately relaxed. She explained everything that she did to my hair, the products she used and how she styled my hair. She didnt try to up-sell products to me, which I appreciated. I left feeling beautiful (wish I would have put my make up on that day!). Cant wait to go back. Make the appointment!!

Myz Tran I have been looking for a new hairdresser for a while and finally took a chance on getting my hair done professionally and Emily absolutely killed it! She did an amazing job!!! She was so sweet and knowledgeable. My hair has never felt healthier and beautiful. Thank you Emily !! My hair was boring and plain and she revived it and made me feel beautiful. Allison Halucka I loved my experience at Viva Salon. Emily has great attention to detail and made sure I was happy with the length before she did any cutting. She helped me understand what kind of style would work well for my length and texture, and the cut she gave me really gave my hair life! Love the result!

Sandra Scott I booked online. Showed up 30 minutes early. No one as much as looked up, but 3 technicians were all working. At my appointment time, one had put a client under the dryer and was doing her own hair, one was in back doing nails. The 3rd was cleaning up after the previous client. 15 minutes later, she picked up her bag and told her co-workers goodbye and left the salon. Not once did anyone even acknowledge me, so I left and took my business elsewhere.

Tijana Juhas I moved to Florida from New Jersey a few years ago and I had a really hard time finding a good salon that was reasonably priced that knew how to do blonde hair. I am very picky and super specific as to how I like my color and cut done. Laell takes her time and is so good! Results are always amazing and I am not stressed out during the process wondering how it will turn out. Highly recommend!!

Ciara Michele did an amazing job at my facial. It was extremely relaxing and her room is decorated so cute. She took her time and did not rush. I felt so pampered and will definitely book with her again! Becca is also amazing at doing hair I’ve been going to her for 5 years!!! :-)

Karla King Having Laell do my hair was an amazing experience.The most impressive thing about her is that she is not only talented but also deeply passionate about doing hair, and the confidence in her abilities is what clearly shines through the most! There is a big difference between a stylist who goes to work every day and someone like Laell, who listens to your wants and needs. You will not be disappointed, 10/10.

Hanny M Nellie did great cutting my hair. I am happy with the result! The saloon looks clean and comfy. Reasonable price as well. A bit higher from what states in their website but still reasonable. There are few other stylist, they are pretty busy and recommend to book in advance.

Miranda Richard I booked an appointment for 5 PM today. I showed up 10 minutes early, very excited to get my hair cut by Kelly. I saw him washing someones hair and asked what was happening. He said he would be cutting her hair first. I was very confused. I booked an appointment for 5 PM. Who is this woman? I ended up leaving at 5:05 PM. He hadnt even started cutting the womans hair. I didnt want to wait an hour for a haircut I booked days ago. This is incredibly unprofessional and has never happened to me before in all of my life. I am so disgusted. I took time out of my day to come here for an appointment I had on the books. What business does this? Do not come here if you want a professional service. 1 star.

Rosa S I love this hair studio!!! I paid a very expensive salon in town for a simple haircut and it was ruined. I came to Stephanie king last minute and was attended by Kelly. He did an amazing job. My hair looked amazing afterwards and he gave me so many tips on how to take care of my hair. I’m in love! This is my new hair salon. Highly recommend to everyone. Oh, and they’re not RIDICULOUSLY expensive for no reason.

Victoria Panagiotakis I’ve been coming to Luxe Salon and Day Spa in Sarasota for 8 years now. The services are impeccable from hair to nail services. I have never left here unsatisfied. I have done highlights to 2 color processing and hair cuts for very short hair style that is to perfection. Not everyone can pull off a short hair style. Other services include brow coloring and waxing. The nail services include full service and a relaxing experience. I would never go anywhere else. Cindi Lind has been doing my hair for 35 years, highly recommended. This is a very friendly environment and everyone who works here is hospitable.

Jennifer Campbell I love Luxe Salon, they offer hair and nail services. I moved to Sarasota Nov 2023 and am grateful to have found a fantastic stylist: Nila Bliss. Nila’s experience is impressive, doing hair since 2007! She is a kind person, professional, very pleasant, knows what she’s doing and being a proud Sarasota native, she is an invaluable resource for recommendations for restaurants, beaches, events etc. And her pricing is very reasonable.

carmine Perrelli Im 62 and Im a former Canadian politician who has been vacationing in Sarasota since 1990. I am Italian and have never had a haircut by anyone other than a family member. I have 17 family members who are hair stylists. Until recently, I would only allow my cousin Frank Perrelli from Ginger Root hair Salon in St. Charles Illinois to cut my hair. Let me cut to the chase. A month ago, while in Sarasota, my hair got too long and Cousin Frank had to cancel his trip to Florida to cut my hair. Desperate and no family to turn to, I asked a dear friend if they knew of a hairstylist willing to take on a customer like me. Against my better judgement and out of sheer desperation, I got in my car and went to my appointment with Nila. She was about to meet a hair stylists worst nightmare. Not because I was rude, but because I expect perfection. Let me repeat, PERFECTION. As a hair transplant recipient, cutting my hair brings its own special challenges on top of going outside the Family. Nila was being compared to the Top Stylist in the Perrelli Family as the first person in 62 years who was not family, to cut my hair. Dont forget, I expect perfection. Well, I waited a month to post this comment because the true quality of a haircut can only be appreciated in the weeks following the cut. Nila, at the Risk of being excommunicated by generations of Perrelli stylists, your cut was near perfection and you are ranked as good as Cousin Frank. Every time I look in the mirror, Im grateful for your talent and for putting up with me. With your permission and if you will have me, I would be honored if you would cut my hair in future when Im in Sarasota. Just in case youre worried, I have Cousin Franks blessing.

Sandra Stuckey I had excellent service at the hands of TJ today at Salon 41 on Main. Great color and cut. I have hard hair to handle and came out with a great style and color refresh. Highly recommend this guy.

Rhonda Petr Omg…the best experience I’ve ever had in Florida! I absolutely loved TJ as he spoke my hair language completely! He’s amazing and I highly recommend especially if you have blonde and/or curly hair! I found my forever hair person!

Cassandra Corrado I visited Red Feather salon after finding them on Instagram. I hadnt had a haircut since November 2019, and since then my old stylist (at a different salon) had retired. I booked an appointment with Emily for a haircut, full balayage, and a vivid color, and Im SO glad I did. First of all, Red Feather is incredibly COVID-conscious, which was greatly appreciated. They asked me to wash my hands when I arrived, their staff (and all clients) were properly masked the entire time, and I watched them sanitize chairs between clients (which they have a great system for). The salon itself is beautiful and comfortable. Emily is also absolutely fantastic. I was nervous about getting started with a new stylist (especially since it had been so long since my hair was cut/styled) but she was soothing, asked great questions, and most importantly, did a fantastic job. It hasnt even been 24 hours since I left the salon and Ive already gotten countless compliments on my hair. I will absolutely be back! Im so glad I found this salon.

Gee Basilone Jen is INCREDIBLE. I just left and had to leave a review immediately. She is so educated, helpful and taught me so much about my hair while giving me the best haircut i’ve ever had!! I didn’t know it was possible for my hair to feel as good as it does right now. I will absolutely be back for more pampering in the future, thank you so much!!

Amy Hernden I have been a client of Mary’s for probably around two years now and followed when she switched to Red Feather. I love supporting local and small businesses and that is what you get with both Mary and Red Feather. I have always had a wonderful experience with my appointments, if I need to reschedule, asking questions about my coloring and the process of color. I also regularly change what I do with my hair and Mary will always guide me to make sure my hair stays healthy and this is the healthiest its ever been - even while going from dark brown to blonde. If I’m not in my own conversation with Mary, I have heard conversations between Jen or other stylists with their clients. They are professional and knowledgeable and care about how they respond in educating clients. I love the hair magic they make and the family feel of the salon and business. Will always recommend.

Claire Hatch Wow, my first appointment at D. Cole was a delight from the phone call to walking out the door. The salon is beautiful, calm, and professional. Everyone in the salon was friendly and pleasant to be around, personnel and clients, too. Stylist Tiffany was easy to communicate with and gave me a wonderful cut and highlights. I trusted her with helping me to start growing out my natural gray on my first visit, kind of a risk, and Im so glad I did! Im thrilled with the results and thrilled that I have found this salon.
