W C 3 Shalana and A Nu Twist Salon are amazing!!! First time ever getting my hair braided, i was scared, nervous, didnt know what to ask. I walked in and she hooked me up, made me feel comfortable and took me in as a Walk-in. 15 mins later I was looking fresh and clean.

Wilma Thomas IMO. Anyone who knows anybody comes here! The best, quickest stylistin town. Was easy getting an appointment and the most friendliest of services! My new place to get my hair "did"!

James Evans Antoinette and her staff are phenomenal with the services they provide. I stumbled upon A Nu Twist almost 6 years ago. I drive the 1.5 hour for servicing as there is nine better in the Southern Region regarding natural hairstyles. Make an appointment and I am certain you will be well pleased.

Tiyana mcCoy I ABSOLUTELY ADORED my first visit with Alexis at RBA salon . I had been looking for a hairstylist in Gainesville . And she is the TRUTH . I booked after hours because my work schedule didn’t permit the day time times and even though I was the last client of the day I felt from the moment I walked in I was met with care . no ohhs or ouches while she detangled and washed my thicke thicke hair . I was on the phone and she was just fast and efficient. She was so pleasant and thorough and takes her time , I’m tender headed and could have fell asleep with her doing my braids but we were yapping so much I looked up and I was done . MONEY WELL SPENT AND SHES WORTH EVERY PENNY .Don’t walk to book her run . Hair also is super soft and seamless I loved my install !

Shoneitra Hall I highly recommend Lexi as a stylist. The only thing that makes me not want to recommend her is the fact that I dont want her to get all booked up lol. Shes been taking care of my hair for about 2 years now and its healthier than ever before. Ive recently transitioned into using her vegan hair products full time and Ill never go back to any other brand. If healthy hair is your goal, Lexi is your girl!

Shjandmaar Harmon Alexis is not only professional in her craft but knowledgeable and that is hard to come by these days with stylists! She has been the only person to do my hair for the past 4 years. I trust her fully and load my appointment up every time I book! You won’t regret it and your hair will thank you!

Chunling Yan Danielle is such an experienced and genuine hair stylist! Not only she has magical hands for the hair, most importantly she really listens to her clients needs and discusses plans thoroughly, including short-term and long-term effects of each decision. I really appreciate the professionalism in her, and I highly recommend her!

Nicole Allard I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored by Danielle for over 20 years. She always uses top notch products and never bleaches my hair. I’ve done the Brazilian Blowout a few times which I absolutely love. She even put extensions in. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. I have a difficult head of hair, but she always does a great job. Thank you, Danielle!

L Max I have been going to Danielle for my hair cuts and color for about 32? years, from my 20’s to my 50’s! She has never failed to keep my hair looking it’s best. I get asked all the time where I get my hair done! When my kids were little and I was staying home with them and went somewhere closer (I drive a hour to see Danielle!) to save money. After a short time I decided that I was going back to Danielle, Even though I would have to go longer between appointments! A rare gem that is very talented with color and cutting! She is a super sweet lady and will have you looking your best!

Michelle Bunn I have had my hair cut and colored in Dallas for 35 years. Most hair stylist focused explicitly on color or cut. Cole does both and she is SUPER talented. Her results are incomparable. I drive an hour each way for my sessions. Always worth it!

Maria Jay I had an appointment here in the Spring of 2022, I write this review now as I wanted to sit with the experience before expressing my concerns - I paid a hefty deposit that they said would be half of the total estimated cost. Once I left my appointment I ended up paying far more than that additional. Also, I was not pleased with the color -I asked for highlights on my blonde hair and it looked almost the exact same as when I went in. Very disappointed because as I was a student at UF, I believe this salon may get very one off clients whom they can get away with charging astronomical prices. I would have been more understanding had the pricing been more transparent prior to service. The hairdresser herself was very nice - I was just overall disappointed, would not return and would not recommend this salong to others.

Lauren K I came into Ciao Bella Salon the day after another salon butchered my hair. I was placed with a stylist named Emily, who I swear is a miracle worker. What I thought was unfixable, Emily fixed it. When I came in my hair had looked like I attempted to do it myself, and I was so embarrassed to go out into public. I didn’t even want my boyfriend to see me. Emily made me feel like a queen by the time I left. She corrected the color, which I did not think was possible. We fixed the cut. She saved my birthday. Not only is she a sweet and caring, but she listens to you and what you want. She is also very knowledgeable in her profession. The salon itself is a wonderful place for anyone to get their hair done. The stylist work amazing with each other and they all truly want what’s best for you! I would highly recommend Ciao Bella salon to anyone. Although Emily, she will make you feel like a queen. Attached are before and after photos - I’m still in awe on how perfect Emily fixed my hair. Thank you Emily for saving my birthday! I am so in love with your work and I cannot wait to see you again!

Brooke Frechette Raisa was so sweet and welcomed me as a new client with open arms and a smile. Lana Berry I cannot recommend enough. I have come twice now to get my eyebrows waxed by Moriah. I have had many experiences in the past where stylists have over waxed. Both times she listened to my needs, took her time and truly achieved a result we both were happy with. I really appreciate her patience, I do not feel rushed at all, and you can tell she truly cares about how you feel when she is complete with you. Best experience by far, will come back tenfold, worth every penny. (i never leave reviews but she deserves it)

nrtdclub Ziba was amazing!!! I was so eager to get my eyebrows done by her. It had been 3 years since my last threading experience. She went above and beyond. It didn’t hurt at all and she was so fast. She explained how to best care for my eyebrows and what to do moving forward. She is the sweetest, funny, and educating. I am officially never going anywhere else. 100% recommend!!!!

Shah I’ve been going to Ziba for a few months now and she’s great! I appreciate how quick and painless her service is. Other places have left cuts after threading my brows, but not Ziba. She also has a positive attitude that keeps me coming back!

leahgd1 Ziba is fantastic. I recently moved into the area and was searching for a new quality eyebrow threading expert, found Ziba through her excellent reviews. She did not disappoint! She was able to fit me in same day, extremely communicative. I unfortunately didnt have Zelle on my phone, and at the end of service she waited patiently while I downloaded the App in order to pay. She was extremely kind and needless to say, she is now my new threading expert for my brows!

Mia Gutierrez The only reason this has 2 stars is because the artist was very accommodating and happy to take off the lashes when they weren’t what I wanted/expected. I got my lashes done at 7pm and the next morning expressed to the salon that it was 1) not what I wanted and 2) huge clumps were falling out leaving them extremely uneven. I sent the salon a picture of over 10 clumps of lashes in my sink not even 12 hours after I got them done. I came in when I was off work to get them removed and was denied any sort of refund whatsoever. Not even 3 days with the lashes and they practically all were off by the time I got the last clumps removed. Very disappointing in the owner’s customer service. Nothing against the stylist, but the owner was not accommodating.

Rachel Stallings Glenda cut my hair and did an amazing job! I haven’t loved a haircut this much in such a long time. She is also quite funny too. I have a before and then after photos.

Raegan Simpson I took my friend to get eyelash extensions. I was very impressed. The technician was polite and professional. It took about 2 hours for volume lashes to be applied and they looked amazing once finished. Unsure how much my friend paid, and she said it was completely worth it. The shop itself is comfy and has Marilyn Monroe decor. If Im ever back in Gainesville for a day of beauty, LAE Bar is where Im going.

Deja Moore Beverly is very good at what she do, she gets you in and out in a timely manner, I can tell her what kind of style I want and she just does it, she’s good.

Lauren Pitt-McClelland My daughter had her first professional haircut and she could not have been more excited! It was a great experience. She was so nervous but Meleah made her feel comfortable and welcome. The only complaint I have is now I have to try and style her hair every morning the way Meleah did lol!

Ariana Burga I had such an amazing experience at Hair by Meleah! I got a haircut and blowout yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Nancy Cox I love this salon! I have been getting my hair done there for years, and all the stylists are fantastic! The salon is so charming, and everyone who works there is so lovely! They do book up quickly, (because theyre so great,) so plan ahead and book in advance, as they dont take walk-ins. Love love love this place!

Kyla McMullen This was one of the best braiding experiences I have ever had. She is very detailed oriented, asked a lot of questions, and makes sure that you come out with exactly what you asked for. The environment is peaceful, so much so that I fell asleep more than once. :) Her work is amazing, neat, and professional. I will definitely be back. I am so glad that she was recommended to me

Lee Ann Inkel Nice lady. Good Hair Cut. Bad highlights. *All photos taken within 30 minutes of leaving appointment.* I made an appointment for a hair cut and blonde highlights with "whichever stylist is the best at blonde highlights". Helen made me an appointment with herself. I showed a picture of what I was going for (very blonde hair) and asked if it could be done and she said told me it could. To be fair, after consulting elsewhere, it sounds like it wouldnt have worked due to us having different natural hair colors. While I wanted blended, blonde highlights that would overall lighten my hair color for summer, I received chunky, uneven highlights. I have splotches in my hair from where the chemicals bled out of the foil wraps. Some areas of my hair also very quickly went brassy. The highlights started farther from my root than they should have, which made it look like they had already grown out. Helen kept complimenting me at the end on how good it looked. The next day I went back for a refund. She repeatedly offered to add more blonde; however, I declined as I need to go elsewhere to fix it. Since the hair cut was good, I had no problem paying for that. Helen attempted to charge me $20 more than she had previously quoted me for a haircut. Turns out she was trying to get me to cover the cost of the chemicals she used. When I disagreed, she relented, and said her business had been there a long time and she wanted clients happy.

Lo Has Helen is sweet and kind and gets to the point! I came in with two pictures, and she cut my hair according to the photos. She also suggested ways to wash and style my fine, curly hair, and the level of conversation was comfortable without being overbearing like some hairstylists can be. She also gives nice shampoos with teatree oil and massages as well. I will come here again for a hair trim, and maybe a manicure one day, too!

Cayla Jordan Cait is the BEST hair stylist I’ve ever been to! Every time I leave her studio my hair looks and feels amazing! She puts so much effort and care into each individual client and I can not say enough wonderful things about her. I always feel cared for and listened to when working with Cait. She is so talented! Her color matches are spot on and her cuts always look beautiful. I have some wave and a slight curl to my hair and she always takes time to carefully dry my hair to make sure the cut works with my natural pattern and texture. My most recent hair cut has made me feel more like myself than any haircut I’ve had before. She’s wonderful! Go see her! You won’t regret it.

Laleah Atkinson Cait is THE BEST! Extremely talented, versatile and communicative stylist. Easy to talk to and very kind as well. Like the reviews say, both her studio and her work are breath taking. I’ve been a client of hers for years! Expert with a straight razor for mullets/shags/alternative cuts

Will Hasell Cait is literally the best hair stylist I have ever had hands down. They are incredibly caring and skilled with what they do. I felt comfortable and trusting. Cait has a great eye for what hair style and cut suits you best. I came in looking for a pretty significant change and they exceeded all my expectations. My hair is very straight and thin and Cait helped give it texture and shape. One time, right before my appointment I had an emergency and they let me reschedule with no cancellation fee which was very sweet. I highly recommend Cait if youre looking for the best you and your hair can get!!

Emily Burmaster Love my haircut from Georgina, and loved my whole experience at the salon! She clearly takes pride in her work - from the super clean environment to truly listening to what I was looking for and working WITH my hair to achieve it. Cant wait to go hang out in her salon again for my next cut - the tropical decor & disco balls are everything!

Jess D She owns her own business so it is by appointment only. But she gives a pretty great experience. When booking keep in mind that you cannot be crunched for time in order to get the full experience from her. It felt almost like being at a spa but just for my head. She is professional, organized, kind, friendly & clean. She takes her time & is very detailed with her work. As I was not expecting the amount of time I was going to spend there, I still loved every minute of it and cant wait to go back when I need to touch up. Very pleasant. The wait was worth the outcome.

And they have really great products on sale too!

Leigh E I’ve been visiting Mode Salon East for years, and I always leave with amazing hair! Ive been a client of Brent’s for a few years, and he truly listens and pays attention to detail. With a few gray hairs coming in, I wanted a balayage, and Brent helped me achieve a warm balayage that I absolutely love. Not only does Brent take his craft seriously, but he also shares his expertise with other salon specialists around Florida. Overall, the staff is wonderful, and the vibes are fantastic. I highly recommend checking out Mode Salon!

Jan Meyers Last month was my first time with Rosie. I have short combination wavy and straight hair. Rosie took the time to give me a great haircut that falls into place when blow drying. She was both friendly and professional. She offered advice that I didn’t even think of. Everyone at the shop was pleasant. Will go back for a haircut and surface foil tomorrow.

kristen smith Hairport is by far the best hair salon in Gainesville! The owner Jessica is very professional and its always a great experience every time I visit . The salon is always clean and the stylist are friendly and welcoming. Crystal Dozier Cherelle is amazing. Love my husbands retwist. However, whoever is working the Barber is disrespectful. I came in the wrong door unknowingly. Instead of telling me at that point that I came in the wrong door, the barber walked me back to Cherelle’s area. On my way back through, he decided that was the time to be mouthy and say “there’s a front door too” while laughing and the entire room laughed. Absolutely not okay. He could have let me know I came in the wrong door. He chose not to, instead making fun of me? Not a way to keep business.

Chanel McDaniel From start to finish my experience was A+ The staff were all very professional and friendly. The owner Jessica did my hair. She was very knowledgeable and detailed on haircare to my specific needs. My hair came out flawless!!!! I will definitely be back!!!

Aubrey Rushe Deborah did an amazing job for my January wedding. In the months leading up to it, she gave me a haircut that would support the hairstyle (and improved the appearance of my normal day-to-day hair, to boot) and invited me to come in for multiple trial sessions to make sure she got everything perfect. I have naturally curly hair, and wanted a stylist who was familiar with curls and wouldnt straighten my hair then re-curl it into large, unnatural "chunks" (which has happened with other stylists in the past). I was drawn to Deborah due to her portfolio of curly hair styles that looked natural, and Im really satisfied with my choice.

Maritza Guzman Choosing Deborah as a hair stylist for my wedding was a the best decision I made. She came highly recommended and I needed an expert for my thin and little hair. Her talent and skills exceeded my expectations. Magically, she made my hair look radiant, silky, shiny, and most importantly my head was full of hair and not blank spots visible! I was so appreciative since after my surgery I lost much of my hair. I needed a miracle without spending a fortune nor putting inserts. Since over a week before my wedding she voluntarily treated my hair with products that contributed my hair to look more abundant and healthier; she did this for free. She is generous and is customer oriented, so clients satisfaction is her priority. But her talent & skills go beyond all I have stated. Since the moment we met she showed compassion, care, great listening skills, and most importantly patience! I admit I am very hard to please when it comes to my hair. She genuinely embraced my concerns and made it happened! My wish came true, I looked radiant and as an older bride I value her work. Furthermore, I wanted her to come do my hair instead of me going to her. That was important to me because I did not want the hassle of going back and forth on my wedding day and plus it was in the morning. Day of wedding arrived and I was surprised. She came fully equipped, as if she moved her business to me. I felt like a queen and so pampered! She even helped me calm down by doing relaxation techniques. It was an amazing experience! Doris Downs Deborah was my wedding hairstylist for my wedding last weekend. I had the beautiful princess hairstyle of my dreams. She even helped convince my daughter (a self-proclaimed tomboy) to get curls for my wedding. My daughter ended up being so excited about her hairstyle that she kept asking us to check it. It always looked great. All of our hair looked beautiful and stayed perfectly for the evening. Deborah is a caring, talented woman, and I am so glad I found her for my wedding.
