Cameron Bainger I went to a wedding at the Blanche around the corner a couple of weeks ago and had to get there a couple of hours early because my wife had to help set things up. I had some time to kill and was going to take a walk when I saw this shop. So I thought that getting a fresh haircut would be a nice surprise for my wife while she was busy. I took a shot and the barber said they don’t take walk-ins (very understandable) but he asked me what the situation was. After I told him, he thought for a second and after I told him my simple haircut, he squeezed me in and gave me a super clean haircut in no time at all. My wife loved it. Awesome shop, I’m happy I ran into it. My haircut is simple, but the guy before me looked like a more complicated job and he left looking super fresh. If you’re in Lake City and need a good barber, this is the place to go.

Daryl Freeman Keri provided an exceptional spray tan experience. She was personable, maintained a private and comfortable environment, and created a positive atmosphere throughout the session. The results were flawless—no orange tones, harsh lines, or issues with my palms. The tanning solution left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated, not dry, and I particularly appreciated the subtle Caribbean scent, which was far more pleasant than the typical spray tan odor. This is easily the best spray tan I’ve ever had, and to my surprise, it has held up beautifully even after multiple days in the hot tub. The value for the service is unbeatable, and I’ll certainly be returning to Keri in the future. Thank you!

Fran Slaymaker Stephanie is my hair dresser and has been for years. She is VERY good!! My hair grows in so many different ways but she can manage it, and that in itself is amazing. All of the staff at Mane Performance are wonderful.

Marian Haftel Smith This place is relatively small which I like quite a bit. My stylist was great! I felt comfortable. I do wish they would dust. There are layers of dust on the outlets and many decorative items are black. It was distracting. Also and this is not personal to this place: Lake City is very expensive for hair care services compared to where I used to live in the Fernandina Beach area. You would think that area would be more expensive than here being a resort area. I have paid $50+ more for my hair care both times so far in Lake City than I did before for the same services in Nassau County/ Fernandina before moving here. I don’t get it.

Victoria Carlisle I contacted Tina Redd and she accommodated me on the same day. She listened to my needs and concerns. 2014 a hair salon cut all my hair off and damaged my hair. I had to wait for it to grow out. April 29, 2021 Tina helped me look like my old self. I felt ecstatic, energized, and excited. Literally over the moon. Im so overly grateful and thankful for what she did for me. She did a superb job. She has a client for life. Exceptionally professional. I cant "Thank you" enough.

Elizabeth Vargas After about 6 months coming here with my daughter every time… I brought my mother and grandmother as well! We thought we had found our forever salon and turns out my daughter bothers them! Threw a child policy at me ( which I checked off since I am a helicopter mom) and she was also a little client as I paid for her shampooing every time! I felt at home and loved my hairstylist and turns out they do not appreciate our business. Last visit was well over $500 for all 4 of us and I am truly heartbroken that they have discriminated my daughter (and she loved this place)! I talked this place up to all my friends and family and this came out of left field… just in awww of who people turn out to be! Anyone and everyone I know will hear about this!! I am Christian as they claim To be as well… and this is not how you treat anyone! Especially paying clients! So disappointed and sad but where my daughter isn’t wanted neither am I!

Farrah Dennison This was my first experience at Vera and it was nothing short of amazing! The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming and Lindsay was awesome. She listens so thoroughly to your wants and was so transparent on what could and shouldn’t be done to keep my hair beautiful yet healthy. Her and her assistant for the day were very pleasant and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of the entire visit. The only reason I choose a 4 instead of 5 is because my mother always taught me there’s always room for growth! It was a perfect hair day and I can’t wait until my next appointment!

Shelby My mom and I saw Mrs. Gloria today and had an amazing visit. We had a back room to ourselves which was very nice. I got a cut with layers and my mom had her hair colored and cut with layers. Mrs. Gloria was very nice and did an excellent job! We will definitely be scheduling with her again.

Sandra, the owner of Mane Tease Hair Salon gave me highlights and Ive never been more pleased with these highlights than any other place that has done my highlights before. Erin Phillips I called Southern Exposure on a hope and prayer because I needed to have my long, thick hair touched up and cut today, after 3pm. The original salon I booked in town mis-booked the service before mine, and would not be able to see me. Kamry at Southern Exposure was able to fit me in. And she did amazing. She was able to not only cover my 6+ month regrowth with 30% grays but it melted perfectly into my box dyed ends. She also cut my hair perfectly. I didnt lose any length (thank goodness- I like my long hair), and it was thinned out and layered so nicely. And she is the first stylist to blend my bangs correctly. I just moved to town and was looking to find a stylist to build loyalty with, and have found her! I cant recommend her highly enough. Something to keep in mind when booking- all of the stylists here rent their booth- they do not work for the salon and are independent businesses. If a stylist leaves, they take clients info with them. They also set their own prices and stock their own product. Tip accordingly.

Jennifer Watson Showed up for my appointment to find out the stylist no longer worked there. When I suggested to the woman that was there that maybe someone should have called her future appointments and let them know, she said that wasnt their responsibility. When I said that reflected poorly on the whole salon, she said that doesnt matter that they were all self employed. Hmmmm pretty sure you lost all my future business and I definitely wouldnt recommend this salon to anyone if that is how they run their business.

Diane S The shop is nice. The staff was not rude, but not friendly, either. My stylist did not ask any details on what I wanted, though I managed a quick comment. I did tell her I needed enough length to pull it back for a ponytail, yet she cut the sides too short. She rushed through, telling me at the start, she had someone coming in for color and would be setting me under the dryer (instead of blow drying) so she could do the other customers color. I habe my hair cut as the one bit of luxury just for myself. I did not feel at all pampered, not even a little. I will not be returning, nor will I recommend them to friends.

T L L Brittany was awesome. I was just driving through and wanted to have my hair done. Looked up the reviews and called. They went out of their way to make it happen. Highlight, cut, and styled. It looked great, a great price, and the shop is full of charm and sweet friendly ladies. I will definitely go out of my way to visit again.

Christine Goad I went to Dana hair therapy on Wednesday January 10th 2024 and she did an amazing job on my hair. She took the steps on how to do my hair so I didnt end up with a messed up haircut from a previous experience. I told her what I wanted done and she did the rest And my haircut is awesome and the color is perfect. She took her time and didnt rush like some of these other walk-in hair salons do. I would definitely recommend her. She does one on ones by appointments only.

Anna-Belle Howard I got a full foil and color correction done by alecia. Before starting the process i was very open to her about previous work done on my hair. I was very understanding of the fact that my hair was comprised do to previous lighting and box dye and told her this several times. I told her that if she couldn’t make me look like my references photo today it was understanding and to prioritize the integrity of my hair. After letting the foils sit for hours she washed my hair. When coming back from the bowl I could immediately tell that my hair was gummy. As she was brushing my hair the comb became so full of gummy bleached hair that she had to switch it out three times. When I confronted her about this she told me some breakage with bleaching is normal. I was charged 250 for her services and left a 50 dollar tip. After going home my hair continued falling out throughout the day to the point where the front looked to be brunette again. After paying 300 dollars the blonde that a paid for all broke off leaving the back of my head bleach blond and the front and sides brunette. I also had to pay out of pocket for products like olaplex and k18 to try and fix her mistakes. I trusted her with my hair only to end up with severe breakage and lose hundreds of dollars.
