Eric Emmons: I have no confidence in Michael Mayer as a Farmers Insurance agent or his business practices. His office changed my dwelling coverage from 700k to 545k without letting me know or asking if I would like a change in coverage. His office acted liked they were saving me money but my premium was basically the same with less coverage. I specifically asked his office staff if there was a change in coverage and they said "no" which was a lie. I brought my concerns to him thru email and he responded with a generic reply like I didnt understand how home insurance works. I need a specific amount of dwelling coverage due to the uniqueness of my home, but not once did he offer to ask questions or inquire about why I needed a certain amount of coverage instead unilaterally decreased my coverage without letting me know. If I didnt catch it and had a claim I would be S.O.L. I called farmers corporate and they were appalled with the specifics of my situation. The agent took time to ask why I needed that amount of coverage and thru documentation Farmers insured me for more than 700k dwelling coverage in case of a loss. I switched agents because Farmers is not to blame, Michael Mayer is. I would give zero stars if I could. Stay away!!!!!

Linda and Peter Dytrych: We switched over to Allstate as our premiums had been skyrocketing with our former insurance company. We are not people that want the cheapest insurance nor the cheapest coverages, for sure. We are just looking for fair pricing and an insurance company that will have our best interests and needs. Honestly, we have just purchased an insurance policy for 2 cars, our condo, and umbrella coverage. We sat down with Melissa Whiting and she is wonderful to work with; integrity, fairness, and honesty. Offered us coffee or water, even. Truly a breath of fresh air for the insurance industry. We are just new clients so we cannot comment on how the company will handle any claims. We love the location here in St. Augustine at Nix Boat Yard Road. Beautiful office; all renovated! We are saving about $1,600; we did reduce our umbrella coverage, yet still a very nice lower premium. Allstate offers 6 months only for auto insurance; for condo and umbrella, a full 12 month policy.
