1 /5 Mary Egan: I dont use this bank except for its convenient ATM, which I use almost weekly (at $3.75 per use). Yesterday I pulled up to the ATM drive thru and put a non-PNC debit card into the machine. I got nothing. The machine didnt respond. I couldnt cancel the transaction, change it or modify the idle touch screen in any way. I waited several minutes, but still no response from the machine. So naturally I went inside the bank and reported the problem to a teller. She asked if I had used a PNC Bank card, and I told her no. She then declared they do not recover non PNC cards when they are eaten by their ATM. Now, she didnt say they "couldnt" (obviously they could if the card was PNC or she wouldnt have asked), nor did she even want to know if I had an account at PNC, just that they dont, as in "we dont care about you". She said Id need to order a replacement from my bank. Interesting glimpse into how this bank thinks about customer service, isnt it?
