Ebba Carling Im in middle school and I love going to Calvary Chapel South Tampa! My family started attending right after we moved to Tampa. I get to learn about the Bible verse by verse and how it applies to my life. I have a twin sister and two younger brothers who also love going. My parents attend couples class, which is good for their marriage. We love helping out at Calvary Kids Club on Wednesdays as junior volunteers. Calvary Chapel is like our second home and family.

Sigrid Carling As a middle-school student, I found this church extremely welcoming and the youth group amazing. They explain the gospel in words that I can understand so I can have a connection with God and Jesus. I also help out on Wednesdays at the Calvary Kids Club, which is for elementary kids, where we play games and learn the gospel. We also have Tuesday night youth hangouts over Zoom. This church has something for all age groups!

Madison Tyle The Church at Channelside is truly such a special part of Tampa for me. Pastor John, his wife Shea, and all of the members at TCAC do a phenomenal job of fostering community. One thing I really love about the church is how they truly meet everyone where they are at. From the Alpha class that is geared towards new believers or non-believers with questions about faith to church membership and the CORE team for devoted Christian members who want to volunteer their time serving the community and the church family. I have found so much love and peach at the Church at Channelside! It is also right in the heart of the channelside area/Downtown Tampa, making it very easily accessible and walkable.

Ive had the opportunity to sit down with the pastor and leadership team of this church and they are an incredibly genuine and welcoming bunch. In addition to being a church that is focused on biblical values and teaching, Ive also admired the many ways that Ive seen members of this church out and about serving the community - from street cleanups to port support for tired and weary crew members, and everything in-between, this church really cares about our city and it shows!

CC Zuleyka (Zuly) Warning of Social Media Toxic Behaviour. The "family" can be welcoming if you avoid sharing sincere reviews or opinions online about classes offered at this church. After attending and helping there for a few years, I recently shared an honest review of a class I attended at the church in a page dedicated to the church. I approached my feedback professionally and noted some gaps I perceived in the material. I posted on one of the church-dedicated pages to encourage people to take notes from the class while also seeking guidance from the Lord, as He is the truth. I referenced the Bible, explaining that evil can sometimes appear charismatic. In response, some individuals reacted very negatively to my post, which was meant to review the class taught by the MCC pastor. I genuinely appreciate and respect many attendees of this church. However, I now understand why many Gen Z and Millennials choose to distance themselves from it. I feel compelled to warn others about the toxic responses one can face from certain attendees when not praising everything the pastor does. I certainly do not hold any animosity toward the LGBTQ community. Its unfortunate that honest individuals who take the time to attend a church that promotes inclusivity can be subjected to harassment for providing a sincere review—especially when it is not aimed at inciting hatred against any person or community. Its sad that many in the LGBTQ community work hard to foster awareness and acceptance, yet some members of a church with a long-standing presence in Tampa allow toxic behavior online to flourish against those who wish to offer constructive feedback regarding a class that may not be entirely beneficial, especially for individuals who may be more vulnerable. Instead of addressing the situation as a leader and asking congregants to be respectful, the pastor responded by making excuses. In any field, feedback and reports are necessary for improvement. For instance, we wouldn’t expect educators to be attacked for grading assignments, patients for sharing their patient experiences, or customers for sharing their experiences at a store. I have gone to different churches, in my life and have been blessed to have been educated by many professionals including theologians and this is the first time that I have experienced a toxic response to a review of a class. From my end, peace and love!

This Church is full of soul winners and has a zeal for Jesus. My family and I have felt so welcomed at this Church. My family and I drive past many churches every Sunday just to attend this church. Leslie Gray My first and last visit to GraceCity Tampa was on Mothers Day when my adult daughter, husband and myself visited. We have been in ministry ourselves for 26 years, and were away from home. While the word was good, the people were cold and indifferent to us as visitors. Not even one person spoke to us, welcomed us, or so much as said hello. I post this hoping that you will look into your hearts and ask yourselves if that is how you think Christ would treat visitors.

Easily the best band I’ve ever heard, and it’s not about performance; it’s all about glorifying God. And I love how invested this church is in serving the community beyond its walls. So thankful to call this place home.

hector martinez Here’s my take. I’ve accepted the lord into my life two years ago. Ever since I’ve read the Bible everyday without fail. I haven’t been to a church in all that time since accepting the lord. I’ve asked the lord if he wants me to go to a church and partake, then find me one. One that works for me, one that teaches. Well, today i found one. The people there are very welcoming. The word is preached from the book. It’s pretty much what I’ve been asking for. I’ve accepted the lord in my heart and comfest it out loud. But I haven’t been baptized. The Paster there was willing to do it on the spot. Im thinking, finally is this going to happen. Accepting the lord and baptism is a personal decision one makes for salvation. I was a little conflicted because it’s something that i want. But it was my first time there, and i wanted my wife and daughter to witness this wonderful event. It didn’t happen today. I hope this church will welcome me back. Great Paster and people there.

Christie Steele This is the best church Ive ever been to (In 29 memorable years). Ive been coming here for three years, since I moved to Tampa. No one preaches like Pastor Tommy. He has an unparalleled gift for teaching. Hes a funny, kind and genuine speaker. No matter how long youve been going to church, youll learn something here. This is the church gem of Tampa. I only wish there was something like this everywhere. Update: Even years later, now that I live elsewhere, I still watch the sermons online. I can’t get the same amount of learning anywhere else.

Jami George If I had to use one word to describe my first time at Watermark Church, it would be comfortable. Ive had uncomfortable experiences with churches in the past and opted to just not go at all. I attended Watermark with a friend and I will continue to go. The people were friendly and inviting, the music is incredible!!, the whole facility is inviting and comfortable. The regular Pastor was away so there was someone else standing in. I look forward to going back.

Dallas Herndon My wife and I have attended this church now for 10+ years. We were dating here, married by the pastor and will soon have our first daughter dedicated to the Lord here. The children’s ministry is not super flashy like the big churches in the area but is VERY organized and fun. Plenty of time for the kids to play, pray, learn and make friends. Definitely give this church a try if you’re looking for something different from what you’ve always known. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Cherl Redenius Oakwood is a wonderful family-centered Church that is inclusive and friendly. We felt right away at home and were welcomed into their congregation. We visited other churches but none of them felt as warm and friendly as oakwood. There are lots of programs including small groups and programs for kids. They have a soccer Clinic twice a year for children, an easter event and Holiday events. They teach ESL to students for free, and offer many other opportunities including Bible studies womens meetings mens meetings and more. They also have a robust youth group and childrens ministry. Dave Lechuga This is my home church. Ive looked far and wide and this is the closest Ive found to what a church should be. The north American church model can be found on almost any street corner and thats not what I was looking for. The same old thing doesnt challenge me, help me to grow, and make an impact in the community as its primary role. This place does all those things and does them well. The Sunday message is given by a rotating group as well as guest speakers. In my opinion this is necessary so that no one gets a big head and has a great fall like weve seen so many times before. Most churches are churches WITH small groups, Oakwood is a church OF small groups. Theyre focus is outward, growing the universal body of Christ. Not inward, growing the number of attendees. When was the last time you heard a pastor more concerned with spreading the gospel and making disciples (who then go and make other disciples who start their own church) than growing their own numbers?? Thats why Im here.

I was never a painter before until Abby R. came up to me and shared her experience and gave me encouragement to paint. BEST DECISION EVER!
