3 /5 Jon P.: The service at Katya Vineyards was excellent—our server was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. However, the food was a mixed experience. As a party of four, we sampled several dishes, including the short rib, gnocchi, risotto, and pork shank. While some were enjoyable, others were just okay, which is disappointing given the premium prices. For what we spent, I would have expected consistently outstanding dishes, especially when I’ve had better meals at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen in Lake Tahoe for a similar price.
To top it off, we ordered the pistachio ricotta cake, which the waiter assured us was made in-house—but it turned out to be the exact one I’ve purchased from Restaurant Depot Express before. That was a letdown.
Overall, the staff was great, but the food and pricing didn’t live up to expectations. For the cost, I’d expect a far more refined and unique dining experience.
