2 /5 Amber Meridy: They were paid to host and cater my class during homecoming last weekend. The event should have started at 11 AM, but due to inclement weather, it was pushed back by an hour. My friends and I arrived at the restaurant around ~12:00 PM after receiving the update about the delay in service. Food was not ready to be served until ~1:50 PM. The event was set to end at 2:00 PM. I let our event planners know that I had a 3:00 flight and that I needed to be leaving for soon. I also let a staff member know I had to go soon and would need a to-go plate if I was going to be able to enjoy any food. Both me and our event planner, were met with exasperated responses from staff and stalling. The staff member I spoke with said that we were never supposed to receive food until 2:00 PM, which made no sense to me since that was the end of the time we reserved with them. Their restaurant was still open to the public so I observed waiters taking the orders of regular patrons and getting out their food in a timely manner (a plus side for the other patrons, I guess). Our planners paid for a set menu to be distributed buffet style and I personally do not believe at all that the food was prepared/near ready prior to us arriving. By the time the buffet was ready, I had to box my food and leave. Based on the report of the friends I left behind, the manager on duty had not come out to address the extremely long wait. I did not find the brunch enticing enough to ever go back and was upset because I could have spent the last day of my visit with my friends indoors at other restaurants we had actually been eyeing. I came to this establishment specifically because I had prepaid for entry in my homecoming package. Just be wary if you are booking them for catering.
