4 /5 Edward Morton: My wife and I had lunch at the bar on the back side of this riverfront restaurant at around noon on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Wed eaten here over a decade earlier and knew it had a nice view of the Indian River, so we decided to try it out again. When we arrived, wed noticed that a place called Vero Tackle & Watersports had been built directly in front of the restaurant, so at first, we feared that maybe the restaurant had been closed. When we walked out back of the tackle shop, we were happy to see the Riverside Cafe was still very much in business. When we entered, we noted that they had a large brunch buffet set up in the main dining room, and a church group was starting to shuffle in to occupy that seating area. The hostess escorted us back to the bar on the backside of the restaurant, and we were happy to find that the owners had made this an enclosed tiki area and it was delightfully air conditioned on a hot and humid summer afternoon. The nice view of the river was still here to behold as well. We shared a French Dip roast beef sandwich at the bar, which was very good. Our bartender Morgan was also very friendly and attentive to our needs. This is a nice place to have a casual lunch or early evening dinner to watch the sunset over the beautiful Indian River and we will go back anytime we visit Vero Beach in the future.
