Tanai Anderson I dont like to dock stars and affect the average rating of a business, but I just wanted to share my recent experience. I was driving through this town heading to New Orleans when my engine light came on beeping and flashing. Upon arriving they were nothing but helpful and friendly and came straight out to look over and test drive my car. I was advised I need my ignition coil replaced. After they stopped for lunch this was completed same day which I was thankful for and was back on the road by 3pm. I was told the problem should be fixed but if the engine light comes back on I should put a fuel injector through it. Obviously hoping the engine light wouldnt come back on after paying $180 for the new ignition coil. However, within 2 hrs of leaving, my engine light came back on and again was flashing and beeping. Being late in the evening and not near any towns I had to wait until I got to New Orleans to try again. First thing in the morning I took my car to Autozone for a free engine light check and to buy some fuel injector. I was advised I just needed to replace my number 4 spark plug and wire as it was misfiring. My engine light has not come back on and has been driving fine since the spark plug and wires have been replaced. Now Im not a mechanic and didnt see the results of the test they conducted the day before or the condition of the old ignition coil, so for all I know it could have needed replacing. I guess I am just slightly disappointed that the spark plugs and wires werent checked over as a routine with this. One of my back wires was broken at the connection to the plug having been forced on and the number 4 wire also wasnt connecting properly. Thankfully I had a mechanic in New Orleans that gave me some free advice and helped change the faulty spark plug and wires. As an Australian tourist everything in USD is nearly double in price, so although they were the lovliest people and squeezed me in last minute, I ended up paying $300 to get my ignition coil changed and still needed to go diagnose the engine light issue which turned out to be a simple fix in replacing a broken spark plug.
