1 /5 Elijah Kolthoff: to say i am extremely disappointed is an understatement , i am a senior in high school doing it all by myself, my AC randomly stopped working and i assumed it needed refrigerant , however it wasn’t working. i checked the AC compressor and it was working just fine , it was rotating and wasn’t locked up or anything, next day i toke it to big mechanic for a free AC check , they proceeded to tell me the the AC compressor was broken and it would cost almost 1,000, which is not the type of money i have as a high schooler. After i told them i didn’t want it fixed they said fine but they told me they already toke out my cabin Air filter and it needed replaced (it most definitely did not) and charged me 30 bucks for something i did not want. later that day , disappointed and felt taken advantage of, i went home and googled some more and turns out a honda needs a very specific refrigerant, i went to check my refrigerant and instead of what i filled it up to ( A little over 40 psi) they filled it overly too much which they knew they shouldn’t have due to it will mess up my AC compressor (Thinking i will come back because it will actually break) however luckily i checked it, i drained it all myself and put the new refrigerant in and my AC works amazing now. Please Do your research before ever taking your car here especially as a young or older person as i was taken advantage of.
