1 /5 John M: ***UPDATE 11/23/24***: Shortly after leaving my original review, I received a response from the facility asking me to reach out to their Patient Experience team for further assistance. I was slightly hopeful despite seeing another reviewer who stated they too had reached out as instructed but received no reply. Anyway, I responded with all pertinent details on 10/03/24 and received a reply later that day that someone was looking into this right away and someone would get back to me. I sent a follow up on 10/16/24 and 11/13/24. NO RESPONSE TO DATE. We’ve tried calling and get nowhere. I realize now that their original reply to my review was to save face and nothing else. This company does not care about patients nor do they act good faith. Please, if you’re looking for quality care and with the expectation that you get what you and your insurance is paying for, GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Shameful.
Original Review:
This is going to be a lengthy review so bear with me. I visited this facility on 8/22/24 at the suggestion of my PCP - specifically for instances when I could not get into her office but needed minor treatment (it was implied to be an urgent care center). I would also like to preface that I am an elderly person with limited resources (both financially and technologically). Days prior, I felt like I had fluid in my ear and there was a clicking sound. I had tried to be patient but felt like I needed to see a doctor at this point. I was seen my David Sturm. He looked into my ear with an otoscope and stated he "saw nothing". He referred me to an ENT and sent me on my way. The visit with Dr. Sturm lasted less than 5 mins, if that. Weeks later, imagine my surprise when I received a bill with an original charge of $3,040! My balance owed through my Medicare plan was $80. I find it absolutely reprehensible that this facility charged my insurance $3K+ and that I am left to pay $80 (of which, I cannot afford) despite receiving absolutely zero medical treatment. Medical providers and organizations like this should be ashamed of themselves. Id also like to add that I do hold myself and my PCP responsible to a small extent for believing this was an urgent care facility - when it in fact, was a free-standing emergency room. I wont make this mistake again nor will I return to this facility. Regardless of the type, $3K to be seen by a doctor for mere minutes and being sent away with no remedy or assistance is unacceptable. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard and dont mind being robbed blind, I would avoid this place at all costs.
