4 /5 J. Ray: State Park pass holder so I visit as much as I can yearly. Nice pretty cool spring water. Nice boardwalk with a river lookout. Picnic tables. Grills Trails. Obviously there will be biting insects and ticks - it’s wooded! Cool huge cypress trees. Ramp and steps. Would be wonderful if people didn’t have out on the steps and the floating dock. Spring run is separated and boats do pull up. Not a bad experience. Photos on a Saturday, the weekend after Memorial Day so wasn’t too bad for a weekend. Concessions but didn’t get anything by so no sure what they serve.

5 /5 Kaitlynn Christian: Super pretty! For it being Memorial Day Weekend, it honestly wasn’t as packed as I thought it would have been. Water was beautiful. They have a chair for handicapped people to be lowered into the water. I took my fiancé and daughter and we all love it. Will definitely be back.

5 /5 I Am: The place is extremely clean, helpful rangers, great cabins and Pavillion, BBQ grill available, bathrooms spotless. You may view Manatees ~ warming up ~ gators, people swimming in the blue clear waters. It is a GREAT place and affordable $6 per car.

5 /5 Judith Garcia: Beautiful emerald cool water. We saw manatees and it was not very busy. The board walk was beautiful. Be prepared to bring cash as there was no way to give a card.

Friendship Fountain - Jacksonville Ashley Coop: What a VAST improvement!! This is a special spot in the city. You could spend the entire day out here if you have the energy. I am so happy to see the city invest in our children. From the sails that double as shade to the bouncy soft ground, this playground is perfect. Got the stamp of approval from all the kids- my 1, 4, and 9 year olds. I even saw a few parents having fun. Pack some drinks and snacks, some sunblock, and cancel your appointments for the day. See you there!

Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens - Jacksonville ever owen: We went in the morning and it wasn’t super packed, great experience getting to see all the animals. Very dry beautiful gardens. A few animals were not out, but most were! The staff was nice and helpful. Plenty of air conditioned rooms to stop at and bathrooms.

Tree Hill Nature Center - Jacksonville laura micalizzi: This place is wonderful! Me and my adult age daughter wanted to get some steps in and figured we’d give this place a shot. It was so peaceful and the landscape was beautiful. A Florida rainstorm had just moved through and dropped buckets of rain, so we didn’t venture through all the wooded paths, but we did do almost all of it. There’s goats and chickens and pigs and alligators and also an indoor space with some snakes and turtles. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back when it’s sunny. We are adults and didn’t do all the trails and we were there about 2 hours. If it was drier, we may have been there a little longer. Highly recommend!

MOSH (Museum Of Science & History) - Jacksonville Hannah Rodriguez: My toddler and elementary aged kiddos loved it here! The staff was friendly and while we didn’t play on it, the indoor playground (5 and under) looked very nice! Other than that area, though, it was all pretty run down at best and kinda janky in others. Either way, the kids couldn’t tell the difference and the older learned or brushed up on a lot of science! We took advantage of the EBT/WIC discount and got $3 entry for myself, free for one kid and then my toddler was free all the time.

Southbank Riverwalk - Jacksonville Inday Grasya: A beautiful place to walk, with amazing view. When we visit there last week we encountered the beautiful sightseeing of dolphins and they so gorgeous. They have also playground for the kids and fountain that give u refreshing feelings. Very clean as well.

Castaway Island Preserve - Jacksonville S D: Beautiful nature gateway. Pretty small trail but very peaceful. Great to come here on a New Year’s Day walk. Sadly did not see much wild life but there are many informative signs of the wild life animals that do live in the salty marsh environment. It was my first time observing this type of environment. There is a main Island trail and on the side there are some observance spots as well.

Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens - Jacksonville Pilar Rodriguez: Such a peaceful and beautiful place! We visited the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens with our dog and we loved it. The trails are well-maintained and easy to follow, with gorgeous views and a mix of shaded and sunny areas. It felt safe and super relaxing. My pup was happy sniffing around and walking the trails (on leash, of course), and there were plenty of spots to stop, rest, and enjoy nature. It’s a perfect little escape from the city—definitely worth the $3 entry. We’ll be back soon!

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park - Jacksonville dope!Mike: Had a nice relaxing three day stay at this park while exploring the area. I like how theres a beach across the street from the Campground. Makes for easy sunset walks or an early morning swim.

James Weldon Johnson Park - Jacksonville Alex Vane1: stopped by James Weldon Johnson Park during Art Walk Night and was blown away by the energy and creativity on display. The park came alive with local artists showcasing their work, live music filling the ai, and food trucks lining the edges with the scent of great eats. The lighting and setup gave the whole space a vibrant, welcoming vibe. It was the perfect mix of community, culture, and downtown nightlife. Whether youre into visual art, live performance, or just enjoying a good crowd, Art Walk at JWJ Park is a must-experience part of Jacksonvilles local scene.

Big Talbot Island State Park - Jacksonville Jessica Hollon-Tuell: The trail is longer than I expected, to get to the beach but it was a nice, pleasant walk. The beach itself was gorgeous! All the dead trees really gave it a mildly spooky, cool, ethereal vibe and the waves were so mild, we just chilled in the water for hours.
