5 /5 ALAN DEE: Very large park with a walking bridge out to the island beach area. Walk is about 10 minutes one way. There is a golf cart shuttle that runs from 9-4 pm. Beach water is flat. Bathrooms are available. The gift shop has some drinks and ice cream. Sun lotion, hats, and shirts.

4 /5 Vincent Baumgarten: Lovely facility and a fun park. The bridge makes me a tad concerned at times and the bathrooms have an odd smell, but overall its a very safe and fun experience. The beach is wonderful and has a perfect balance of quiet but also populated to where you can make friends but not feel swarmed. Also, I like turtles.

5 /5 Doctor Hurt: This tucked away preserve is beautiful and serene. Rent a kayak, bring your own, take a walk across the inlet to the beach and observe all the wildlife in their habitat or bring the kids and explore. An annual pass is recommended but entry is very inexpensive. Love this park.

5 /5 Becky Johnston: MacArthur Park is a very nice place to kayak. Rental was easy and the staff were very friendly. There is a large area to explore and it is easy to navigate. The wildlife is sure not to disappoint. Fish jumping and birds diving.....very interesting to watch this bit of nature.

5 /5 David Lieu: We visited on a late Saturday morning in late December 2024. We were lucky and got a parking spot pretty close to the Nature Center. We wanted to do the beach first and check out the Nature Center later. So we carried all our stuff across the long boardwalk. We did end up passing the tram on the way there. It wasnt a terrible walk and the weather we a bit chilly actually. This may be different in the summer time. We did see a couple kayakers in the water and the views from the boardwalk were fantastic. There are shaded stopping points along the way incase you need to take a break. When you reach the other side there is a intricate weave of boardwalks and ramp platforms. This is great for accessibility. They had pretty rustic bathrooms and shower stations. One of the shower stations on the lower deck was closed when we visited. Not sure what the problem was. You have to go up and over to the beach side. There were very few people and it was very windy. The kids wanted to try and do some snorkeling but with the wind and waves they did not have much luck. Low visibility and not being able to stay still. We were told later by some staff that you had to go a little further out to actually see anything snorkeling. We gave up after about 30 mins of the wind and chilly temperatures. There were maybe 5 or 6 other groups on the beach at the time. I think our kids were the only ones really in the water. On the way back the kids were rinsing off at the station when the tram pulled up and the lovely lady waited for us to wrangle everyone. It was a fun ride back and the tram could hold maybe 6 or 7 people not including the driver. We had all our beach gear with us and it was perfect for our family of 5. She offered to take us to parking lot but we still wanted to visit the nature center. The nature center was actually really nice inside. Way better than what we were expecting. It was a little on the darker side with lighting but still very cool. Lots of interactive exhibits and live animals. There is also a theater but if I remember correctly the audio system was not working right and we had to listen to the film through the projects built-in speaker instead of through the larger ones in the room. Just outside the nature center is the Beach Outfitters & Gift Shop which has merch for sale as well. This is where your check-in or book excursions/rentals etc. Right outside of the shop was a sea turtle tank with a baby sea turtle. Apparently its very rare to have a facility that is certified to house sea turtles. A staff member engaged with the kids about the tank. We would 100% visit again. Maybe a different season or if it was just warmer and less windy outside. This was one of our favorite Florida State Parks.

Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society - West Palm Beach Kp: Great zoo overall especially for smaller kids. The layout provides a lot of shade as to walk through the park and the park is just the right size for walking with kids. The new tiger exhibit was nice and you can get very close to the tigers when they are up and moving. There were some areas under renovation but there is still quite a bit to see. My preferred zoo for the area!

Henry Morrison Flagler Museum - Palm Beach Ana Ruedaquintero: This museum was so beautiful. The staff offer guided tours, or you can have a self guided tour with their brochures or audio educational materials. There was plenty of parking at no additional cost, the museum wasnt crowded at all, and we had plenty of space and time to read the information about each room and historical pieces. This is a must visit place!

The Palm Beach Museum of Natural History - Wellington Meg Sweeny: Ann is truly a wealth of information. She needs to write a book! Or two! We went with three adults and two children (6yr & 2yr). The kids played with toys while running back and forth to listen to Ann. The adults, as Dino enthusiasts, found the tour to be exceptionally informative and we learned more in 2 hours than we have in years. May be better suited for older kids but our young ones kept busy just fine with the toys and digging for Dino fossils. Ann, if you read this, write a book and please send us a copy!! Thanks so much for a fun and informative afternoon.

West Palm Beach Escape Rooms - West Palm Beach Christina Sellito: Walked in last minute since we were vacationing and didnt plan to stop in here, the women in the front was very accommodating, I had 2 14 year old boys and they loved it. Very clean, the boys said she was very helpful and she gave me some great recommendations for places to eat in town. Thank you!

Sandoway Discovery Center - Delray Beach Samantha Ide: Wonderful educational stop for all ages! I took my 20 month old and she had a blast touching the rays, watching the nurse shark and aquarium feedings, and was able to pet a ball python. There is a sweet little children’s area with books, puppets and more displays, a wonderful room filled with shells, and a beautiful butterfly garden. Even though it’s a smaller building, we definitely spent over 2 hours there. Definitely coming back when we visit from CT again.

Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens - West Palm Beach July Soto: First impression was excellent! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The nice lady sitting at the entrance was excellent. She shared detailed bits of info about the house, its owners, and the Gardens. Excellent info bits for a first time visitor as myself. I enjoyed my time walking around the Gardens and admiring the sculptures. Great place to explore and inmerse yourself in a bit of old Florida history.

Grassy Waters Preserve - West Palm Beach Morgan Madison: This is a beautiful and very large free park. The nature trail has a long wooden walkway that goes through the area and over water. There are quite a few shaded viewing spots with either benches or rocking chairs. There is also an indoor area that is great for kids and has insects and fish, etc. A lot of educational material.

Candy Tour by Bulk Candy Store - West Palm Beach Sharon Wollman: We recently brought a group and did the Bulk Candy Tour and had a great time! It was not only informative but also brought me right back to my childhood with all the nostalgic candy. Our tour guide, Anika (spelling?) and yes she did say her name was totally misspelled all the time, was fantastic, fun, humorous, and full of energy, which made the whole experience even better. This tour is perfect for kids, especially adult kids who want to relive their favorite candy memories. From classic sweets you thought were gone to tasty surprises like popcorn and delicious Dubai chocolate, there’s something for everyone. And the best part? You get to buy your favorites after the tour! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, lighthearted outing.

South Cove Natural Area - West Palm Beach Kim V.: Everytime were in West Palm Beach, we make a stop at this place also. A nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The view of the Lake Worth Lagoon is beautiful especially once you walk across the 556-foot boardwalk. The city skyline is beautiful from the lagoon; I love that pink building especially during sunset. There are three man-made mangrove islands. Due to over development, many wildlife habitats were forced out; the county created these islands in effort to bring them back. The restoration brought many local wildlife such as sea turtles, manatees, fish, and birds back. We usually find on-street metered parking and explore the city and we never miss this spot. Its definitely a quiet retreat once you get to the other side of the boardwalk. Ive seen many walkers and bikers on it. They did a great job with this area.

Phipps Ocean Park - Palm Beach Barbie Awake: This beach is a true gem, offering a serene and pristine getaway thats perfect for rejuvenation. This location shines with its lovely scenery and meticulous cleanliness. As an added bonus, you can take advantage of free two-hour parking from 8am to 1pm. My vegan lifestyle leads me to avoid swimming in the ocean, not just because I dont want to be in fish water, but also due to concerns about water pollution. Nevertheless, I find solace in the ocean breeze and the breathtaking beach scenery.
