5 /5 Bruce K.: Kid Jones Park was finished in 2009. It features LaBelles only covered and illuminated basketball court. The park spans 3 acres and features a playground, covered pavilion, quarter mile walking trail, baseball fields, and restrooms. There are several picnic tables and a swing set plus a large covered pavilion available for rental. It looked in excellent condition with no trash. Lots of open space for picnics and kickball or football. The park hosts the Black Heritage Festival, which takes place on the third Saturday in May.

4 /5 Raegina Williams: They keep it clean, its safe for kids to play. I always run into someone I havent seen in a while. I love the shade trees over the sitting areas. Great place for the entire family, dog included.

5 /5 Betty Tanner: This is a really nice park for the entire family. Located just past LaBelle Elementary School. Beautiful shade trees, plenty of area for children to run and play swings and slides plus much more for family time and fun.

Hendry Complex - LaBelle Don Browne: Under construction for many years. The fairly large neighborhood park is not quite complete yet and residents still wait for it to be open to the public. Located conveniently next to the local Southwest Florida State Colleges LaBelle branch.

Muse Community Park - LaBelle Mary Northam: The grass wasnt mowed, so we had to deal with snakes. The kids had fun. No grills, the pavilions offered no real shelter. No bathrooms.. for an hour or something is fine, but honestly, its not great for a small birthday party such as ours.

Davis-Pratt Park - LaBelle Shawn Purdie: Typical county fields for most age groups. Decent batting cage only 1 L screen. We hit here prior to playing tournaments in Ft. Myers.

May-Stringer House - Brooksville Pam Sulak: Tours are on the hour. We arrived after 11:30 so we came back at 12:30. Interesting history of the house. Some items originally to the house, but many have been donated but are of the period. 3 very cool doll house in the attic. Well worth the $10 per person.

Chinsegut Wildlife Trail - Brooksville Jeremy Gilpin: The trails are well marked and you will be pleasantly surprised by some nice elevation gains on this hike.

Tom Varn Park - Brooksville John Blum: Love the park! Has a great playground and relaxing walking trails. I have a 3 year old son that I have been bringing to the new Splash park weekly since it opened. Love it! Except for you thing. My son and a few others in the span of a day kept slipping and smacking there heads on the ground when they walked across this mosaic tile that is Super slippery. I understand its to represent those who possibly sponsored the project. But Im asking for it to be removed or something. Please comment if you have had this experience to help prevent any further injury our children. Thank you, Concerned Dad.

Withlacoochee State Forest - Brooksville Tally Tech and Troubleshooting- KQ4KIO: Did a 8 mile hike there for two purposes. I am a wildlife photographer and wife getting ready for the AT. Mostly overcast and a good amount of trees for the added “reprieve “ from our Florida sun. All in all, a nice hike and was able to photograph the “elusive” Sherman’s Fox Squirrel. Some trail maintenance looks to be needed, however not too terribly bad. Definitely recommended…
