4 /5 Don Browne: Newest park in the LaBelle area, with several miles of trails along the Caloosahatchee River and through a wooded area to the north side of the park. A picnic table and parking area is located at the head of the trail and a porta-potty, unfortunately pretty dark inside when the door is closed.

2 /5 Christin Beer: Maybe this is the site of a future park? It has more of a horse trail than a walking path. The trail is a mowed strip with dense vegetation on both sides. I walked about 1/4 mile past the gate on the left before turning around. Maybe it opens up to river views beyond that but i got a little nervous since i was alone.

4 /5 Maldonado SantaMargarita “Mm”: Nice area to walk around and a beautiful look at the river bank. It has a picnic table to sit and you can enjoy the beauty of nature. Cant wait to go back again.

LaBelle Nature Park - LaBelle Anne Amor: LeBelle Nature Park is a short but scenic trail, heavy with foliage that makes you feel completely off the grid. It’s the kind of place where you can just get lost in nature for a bit, away from the noise. Parts of the trail run along the water, though it’s mostly raised rather than a beach—except for one small spot near a pavilion where I could climb down. The best part? Dogs are allowed, which was a huge plus for me. It’s not a long hike, but it’s a great spot for a quiet, refreshing walk with my pup. Definitely glad to have found it.

Hendry Complex - LaBelle Don Browne: Under construction for many years. The fairly large neighborhood park is not quite complete yet and residents still wait for it to be open to the public. Located conveniently next to the local Southwest Florida State Colleges LaBelle branch.

Muse Community Park - LaBelle Mary Northam: The grass wasnt mowed, so we had to deal with snakes. The kids had fun. No grills, the pavilions offered no real shelter. No bathrooms.. for an hour or something is fine, but honestly, its not great for a small birthday party such as ours.

Davis-Pratt Park - LaBelle Shawn Purdie: Typical county fields for most age groups. Decent batting cage only 1 L screen. We hit here prior to playing tournaments in Ft. Myers.

May-Stringer House - Brooksville Pam Sulak: Tours are on the hour. We arrived after 11:30 so we came back at 12:30. Interesting history of the house. Some items originally to the house, but many have been donated but are of the period. 3 very cool doll house in the attic. Well worth the $10 per person.

Chinsegut Wildlife Trail - Brooksville Jeremy Gilpin: The trails are well marked and you will be pleasantly surprised by some nice elevation gains on this hike.

Tom Varn Park - Brooksville John Blum: Love the park! Has a great playground and relaxing walking trails. I have a 3 year old son that I have been bringing to the new Splash park weekly since it opened. Love it! Except for you thing. My son and a few others in the span of a day kept slipping and smacking there heads on the ground when they walked across this mosaic tile that is Super slippery. I understand its to represent those who possibly sponsored the project. But Im asking for it to be removed or something. Please comment if you have had this experience to help prevent any further injury our children. Thank you, Concerned Dad.

Withlacoochee State Forest - Brooksville Tally Tech and Troubleshooting- KQ4KIO: Did a 8 mile hike there for two purposes. I am a wildlife photographer and wife getting ready for the AT. Mostly overcast and a good amount of trees for the added “reprieve “ from our Florida sun. All in all, a nice hike and was able to photograph the “elusive” Sherman’s Fox Squirrel. Some trail maintenance looks to be needed, however not too terribly bad. Definitely recommended…
