Thanks to the doctor and her team, My Kletus got an extra year and a 1/2 with us. We put him down yesterday and as hard as that is, for us, we had plenty of time and they were very patient and even leading up to it. You know, the staff always told me if I needed to talk or vent they would listen. They are all so thoughtful kind compassionate warm. Health Care District of Palm Beach County Lakeside Medical Center - Belle Glade Willnesha Williams: On March 3, 2025, I brought my stepfather (a past stroke patient) to Lakeside Medical Center upon the discovery that he could not lift his right side like he previously were able to the days prior. He was unable to walk, urinating on himself and cognitively disoriented.
After doing vitals they discovered his bp was a little elevated , his heart rate was fast so he was admitted and told me they were doing a ekg & mri which they later said was clear.
Its unfortunate , that they never did an neurological  assessment on him despite what he was brought in for and his past history of strokes. He was discharged the next day with a urine bag with nothing to be attached to keep it from unsanitary areas verses one  to his leg, still unable to lift his right side, still cognitively disoriented.
Spoke to the doctor, Brandi the floor manager today March 5 about his status since being discharge  they claimed that he refused a leg bag. I was never told this information when I am his direct contact and have a POA . I was only called to say he was ready because he is being discharged. They also then offered home health care for him at home. I was told they did see the weakness to that side. Once I advocated to let them know that’s a sign that something is going on since he was able to function to his norm days prior, I was then told to bring him back in and they will send him to another hospital where a neurologist can evaluate him. To me that is neglect of proper treatment and care when he could’ve been sent out instead of being discharged on March 4, 2025 Okeechobee Veterinary Hospital - Okeechobee Trish Zenczak: It was the end of time for our sweet Jazzie. We realized this late one evening. I went on Facebook and asked for recommendations. Many times over, this was the vet that people recommended that was the best in town. It was after hours, but I still reached out anyway on Facebook. Someone was sweet enough to go above and beyond after hours and respond to my message. We showed up the next morning and were handled with lots of care, grace, and compassion. My daughter received a momento box with a paw print and two weeks later we received a card in the mail signed by the whole staff. As hard as this experience it was, they made it easier than expected. We sat together and exalted my concerns and he immediately came up with a plan of care. They won’t release my medical records. I can’t talk to anyone in any of my provider’s offices. They don’t have appointments for months even for critical or time sensitive issues. Doctors leave and they don’t tell you and then you’re stuck with whoever takes over. Many of their doctors are not personable and don’t care at all about their patients. Run far away from Cleveland Clinic. They are not what they used to be.
