1 /5 cathy Euzenas: I made an appointment with Dr. Bataille for pain management. Unfortunately, in the past 12 years Ive had the need, and have seen a few pain management doctors. I expected to have a drug screening done and have a prescription sent to my pharmacy, which is exactly the procedure at the other providers Ive seen in the past.
Ive had 5 neck surgeries and having back fusion surgery in a few weeks. Dr. Bataille, without having seen any of my CT scans or xrays, proceeded to tell me I shouldnt have my upcoming surgery! WHAT??? He said I should see a rheumatologist first. I do have arthritis, but I also have degenerative disks and severe scoliosis. Then Im informed that they do NOT do drug screening there, I will need to go to Quest Diagnostics to have a urine test, and it will be a week before he gets the results! He said theres no option, and I said yes there is, you can get the urine tests that provide you with the results immediately. His response was I dont run this place I just work here! Why would you NOT utilize a drug test thats so simple and provides immediate results so you can help your patients asap? Ridiculous!
Im so sorry I wasted WEEKS waiting for the appointment to see him! The follow-up appointment should have been made for the next week, but when I got home, the appointment was made for 2 weeks out! Precious time when youre in horrible pain!
He is NOT an orthopedic surgeon or a neurosurgeon yet he thinks he knows better than my surgeon, having only talked with me for a few minutes? Really??
The only reason I didnt go back to my previous pain mgmt. doctor was he is not in network because my insurance changed. Going out of network to see him and will get the medication I need the same day as my appointment!
