Jumpin Fun Inflata Park - Sarasota Michael James: Visiting from out of town. Was looking for something to do with the kids. I saw multiple negative reviews about lighting concerns and the cleanliness of the facility. I felt like giving it a shot regardless. Posting a few pics so that you can see its very well lit and very clean. My kids and I had an absolute blast. I would highly recommend it. My one kid stayed on the zip line the whole time while my other just kept trying out activity after activity. The package price, if you pay with gift cards, actually comes out pretty worthwhile. especially when you factor in that you can come back any time for a month. I will definitely be back. Its a great value for the price and a ton of fun
Sanford Museum - Sanford Judy Grillo: Want to know more about how Sanford came to be this delightful town? This is the place. History, art, photographs, displays galore. Its a small museum that is filled with interesting stories and the Museum Curator, Brigitte Stephenson is very knowledgeable. They also publish a fun newsletter you can pick up and offer events on special topics with a local focus. All free with some booklets, postcards, etc available too.
Sanford Riverwalk - Sanford Katie Wendt: Beautiful walk by the lake. Nice benches to sit in the shade and very clean. I even saw an alligator in the water (or crocodile, I cant tell the difference). :)
Museum of Seminole County History - Sanford Sharon Mcfarland: Excellent small county, historic museum. The museum and grounds are in excellent condition. Restrooms are available. Tald with the museums curator is very knowledgeable and friendly. Outstanding one hour stop. Highly recommended.
Goldsboro Museum - Sanford Chuck Tyler: An amazing place to learn about the African American experience in Seminole County.
Fort Mellon Park - Sanford Gannicus 613: Great place for kids. $2 to get into splash pad (not bad at all). Plenty of room for playing, playground is big. A big plus>> they have bathrooms!! Nice view of the lake as well, sidewalks to take a nice walk. There were two shaved ice carts here today and an ice cream truck. Definitely coming here again. Clean as well one slide was out of order but they safely blocked it off so no kids could use it (the welded a metal plate at the top of slide and at bottom)
Historic Downtown Sanford - Sanford Ria: A charming and picturesque downtown with a historic vibe. I tried the banana pudding ice cream—it was delicious! Maya’s Bookshop offers something for every reader, while the German Christmas shops are a delight to explore. Be sure to visit the stunning art store showcasing works from various artists—it’s a must-see for art lovers!
Black Bear Wilderness Area - Sanford Lauren: Decided to come on a Wednesday morning and was surprised to find the parking lot pretty full. I decided to take the trail clockwise to avoid a large group and Im glad that I did because I hardly passed anyone on the trail for at least 4 of the 7 miles. I didnt see many animals, except for the usual birds, lizards, and squirrels. I did happen to catch two manatees breaking the surface of the water, which was neat and a pleasant surprise. The trail is relatively easy, but it varies in terrain and may be harder for young children and those with mobility issues. The trail has washed away a little bit in a few spots but nothing difficult to pass. The trail is mostly shaded but there are some brief spots of full on sun. There is a porta potty at the trailhead, but Ive never used it so I cant tell you if its well maintained or not. Im glad that more people are enjoying being outside, but make sure to read up on trail etiquette so that we can all enjoy this beautiful space for years to come.
Paw Park of Historic Sanford - Sanford John Yohan: I have previously left a very lengthy posting on this site regarding Paw park of historic Sanford. I am not sure what happened to it I havent seen it in quite a while but here is a quick breakdown once again. The park has several areas where you can take different sized dogs and has a lot of agility toys that dogs can run a jump or play through. All in all the park is small but very nice plenty of watering spots for the dogs and bags for pickups. 2 downsides number one there is no latrine for the Fur babys parents and and the other 1 is the side of town thats on everybody that knows Sanford knows 2nd to 5th street can be kind of rough.. On this particular visit we met some friends in the evening and the place was way too dark all that it had was a few street lights And that was not nearly enough lighting for the dog park let alone in area that has problems with crime.. Once again this is John Yohan with your commentary and perhaps insight. I hope this helps you out and 0lease try to have a safe and great day!!!
Sanford, FL - Sanford MR Ravi: Nice river front view. Great place to jog, ride a bike and enjoy the Veterans Memorial. I had a fantastic time even though the ducks tried to steal my chips. Wonderful place to just relax by the water.
